Wassup my fellow Droid gamers,

I just thought it would be a disservice if I didn't make a post about this game. The Symphony of Eternity is an rpg that I had been watching on Market for a while but was in Japanese only but they promised an English translation. After waiting four months an English translation of the game came as promised and developer wrote me letting me know. Well I still didn't know much about the game so when I saw US~9.98 on market I decided that was a little to steep for an rpg I didn't know much about. Well today 05/12/11 @3am central I said what the heck I can atleast try the game for 14 mins. I was very surprised when I got to Google checkout that the game was only $2.99 that not even close to the market advertised price but anyway I'm happy and no longer worried about rushing because of a refund.

When I finally played the game I instantly noticed very high production values. The 2d graphics, artwork, sprite animations, UI, heck even the writing was well done guess the long wait paid off. This game is the exact equivalent to Android's 2d Final Fantasy. The game has a well written story so far, witty likable characters (love the ancient Golem party member who's always portraying his understanding of human needs and emotion when he really shouldn't be), turn based battles with superb animations, limit breaks, skills, even dancing sprites upon battle victory. The game also has a huge 2d world map with many continents, towns, dungeons etc which you expect from say a FF. Everything just flows right in this game from the menu UI to battle system UI. For example when I wanted to cast a healing spell on a character I thought hey it would be easier to just touch the character portrait instead of the little sprite and sure enough it worked like a charm. Attention to detail like that is what makes a good game good.

Bottomline: This is the closest to a 2D turn based Final Fantasy game your going to get on Android or iPhone with out being an actual Final Fantasy game its just that well made. If Square themselves had put their name on the title I wouldn't have been surprised. So if you want excellent 2d turn based rpg on your android device definitely check out this game. It's a steal at the price it is $2.99 at checkout and the developers obviously put a lot of work into it so support and enjoy!

it does seem good , but for some reason they still charged me full $9.89
gave it a fast try , does seem like an old FF game
but battle view was awesome , it looked great

even though that .. can't spare $10 , refunded with a sad face

That's sucks. Probably worth $10 but haven't got far enough to tell but yeah sometimes $10 on an app can be tough to spare. You could contact developer and see if they can fix it for you. Should say $2.99 right before you press buy now at checkout.

Im sorry that if you're not in one of those three countries you cant get the sale price but if you really want the game I say go ahead its definitely top quality haven't ran into a bug yet and the game just keeps getting better. Also supporting these guys will also help bring more high quality rpgs in the future to android. I know I definitely will buy part 2 if they make one.

Another option is to ask developers to expand sale to where you're at.

they removed the part that says only for US Canada and the UK , but it still asks for the original price
I emailed 'em .. lesse if they replied

Yeah I hope so I did talk to them earlier about why it was showing up in market for 9.98 and they said it a market problem & Google would have to fix it, but maybe thats seperate from the checkout price for other countries maybe they can fix that.

just to clarify something , my country still doesn't have market so I had to fake my carrier to see[and buy] paid apps
and this game's offer is available to all countries [registered as ones that can buy apps] except for japan, so if you did like me .. you'll get the original price

they have a great costumer service , the reply in 24 hours :D

I got it for 2.99 it wouldn't download tried to refund it didn't refund but took away my purchased.... Idk why but I bought it a second time.. luckily it downloaded and it is worth every penny. As far as phone apps go I give this a 6 out of 5 stars

I had the same problem as you. The sprites on the world map are way too small though :(. I stopped playing because of that. It seemed really interesting from the castle scene though.

Anyone beat it yet, if so how much gameplay time?

I have put 18 hours into the game already and am still not quite complete with the game, though the story seems to be coming to a head....but I DID notice a number of dungeons behind locked doors that could add a few more hours of gameplay throughout the game. VERY impressed with this game, Android Final Fantasy for SURE.

Hi,

I'm on the part where Kreist and his team goes underground to get into the coup de feat castle where there is a purple armored colored human boss called "Soldier"
(who is relatively weak) that I was unable to steal from him. I keep failing to steal from him until he is dead.

Anyone managed to steal from him?

Is there any forum discussing the game walkthrough etc?

Thanks!
