Ok so I know there have been a couple threads on how to get RSD to work right on Windows 7 for those of us who it wouldn't work for. I've tried all of them, and none of them worked for me until I stumbled across this. It worked like a champ and was super simple. So I'm sharing it with you guys here in case any of you have the same problem I've had.
I take absolutely no credit for this, I'm just sharing the information I've found. This post was originally written by adrynalyne for (I believe) the OG Droid

Set RSDLite to run as admin, then use a command console, either powershell or cmd.exe and run it from command line:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite\SDL.exe -f xxxx.sbf -t 2"

Where xxx.sbf includes the location and name of the sbf file.

For example, this is what I had to do to get it running under win7 64 bit.

1. Started up powershell.
2. changed directory to where SDL.exe is ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite\")
3. Renamed my sbf file to 21.sbf and placed it at the root of another partition (try different locations if one doesn't work, preferably at the root of the drive).
4. SDL.exe -f D:\21.sbf -t 2.
5. Let it finish flashing.

So basically, right click on the RSD shortcut on your desktop, click the compatibility tab and check off "run this program as an administrator", apply it and hit ok
Rename your sbf file to 21.sbf (IDK why 21, but I did it and it worked for me) and place it on your D drive
click the start button on window (windows icon on bottom left of desktop) and in the "search programs and files" part type "cmd" (without the quotes obviously.
now, in your command prompt type "cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite" (unless you've moved RSD to another location)
now type "SDL.exe -f D:\21.sbf -t 2" (again, without the quotes)
At this point my computer asked me something (I believe it was if I wanted to let the computer run the program) just click yes
now let the file flash.

Again, this was EXTREMELY simple. and again, credit for this goes to adrynalyne, I just found out that it also works for us on the Droid X (and couldn't be happier that now I can finally use RSD on my laptop!)
Good luck everyone and happy modding!
