Long time lurker of this forum and I just wanted to thank all you guys for all the posts you did (none specifically to me). It was due to your posts, and Drakaz, I was able to live with this lump of plastic called a phone. Problems I had including; muted sound (headphone jack problem), battery life issues (ROM), and others were solved due to your expertise and I knew anytime I had a problem I could just look it up here. So thanks!

If this shouldn't be a thread please delete it mods! And just to make this thread an interaction I'll ask this question;

Anyone experienced the phenomena that is hating Sams**t for not supporting the galaxy (vowing not to buy from them again) yet the very next phone purchased is a Samsung?

I'm sure any helpful member would like to see this thread. At least I know I do. ;)

I don't especially hate Samsung now (although I certainly don't like them). It depends, I'll simply have to do my research first and not expect any kind of support whatsoever. I wouldn't buy a Samsung phone on its release day for example.

I'm glad that you decided to sign up, it's very kind of you! Congrats on the new phone. ;)

I'm very glad that "we" did help you in some way. Also that all the threads and posts here are helpful not only to you but other members and lurkers.
It would have been nice if you posted more (few post here and there) and not just you but other lurkers just to know that you're "out there". And of course, what you think about this threads and posts (Are there helpful to you or not?). ;)

Either way, I wish you luck with your new unit and better support then the previous one. :p

EDIT: regarding your question. Well this was my first smartphone (I love Android) and thanks to it I found this great community here and on Drakaz forum, also I'm not forgetting some members here (hope they recognize themselves ;) ). For my next smartphone which will it be (Sam*censored or other), some investigation would be in order. But it's definitely going to be dual-core. :p
And don't forget, so long as there are some developers out there like CyanogenMod and Drakaz, every (most of them) smartphone is a unit for installing some custom ROM's. So one unit that will be supported by custom ROM maker will be it.

I was already signed up! Yeah I guess I feel the same way about samsung. The only way I was going to get another Samsung was researching it and making sure there was a way of having software support, and I definitely have that with the nexus s!

I'm

Sorry Lelouch! I guess I had the intention of posting more on this forum that's why I signed up last year, but I got lazy. I only signed up for a one year contract so I'll be ready for some dual core (possibly quad core) goodness too! The prospects are already looking good and I'm a bit partial to WP7 mango, but I better keep that hush on an android forum :p

p.s. are you the same Lelouch on the naruto forums?
p.s.s The lurkers are ALWAYS out there!

Another long time lurker moving on.I too would very much like to thank everybody involved in this forum. At my age (almost 60) it is very refreshing to see so many people working together to solve problems.
The headphone mute finally got the better of me as I sent my Galaxy flying into a wall. I have mixed emotions of love and hate for that phone. The love came from seeing the difference after applying the latest from gaosp.
Following the threads and waiting for the next release became an addiction. I will miss all you guys as this forum has been part of my daily routine.
Many many thanks to all involed.

ps: It was hard to ignore the SGII, but Samsung can f#ck themselves, hello HTC!!!!
