OK, so I went in to the local (corporate) Sprint store (Killeen TX), to pre-order this bad boy. I had a bit of a newb trying to do his very first pre-order, so the manager was helping him out, and we got to talkin. He ALMOST told me when it was coming out, but said the info wouldn't leave the store, but I told him that word for release on the forums was in June, more than likely around Father's Day, since there had been no official announcement as yet. He said Father's Day was very close, but that's all he could say (without having to kill me

). So, barring anything going wrong badly, I suspect it wil be released 17 JUN, right before Father's day. Oh, and the manager said HE'S been playing with it, so it may be the manager's (who have a bigger stake keeping their jobs) have been the advocates, and that's partly why it's been so quiet. Just glad to know it's soon!

But on their calendar under launches for May/June there is nothing about the Evo 3d. Just some other crappy phones like the Trender...

I fear we wont see this until at least July... so sad :thinking:

That worries me too. Although, it is dated 5/25 and I from what I understand it is published weekly. If thats the case, then there is still a chance. Although, I cannot verify this.

Rumors on another forum from "someone who has inside info" is stating the phone is still having lots of problems with crashing and Sprint trying to get it out end of June or early July.

I went to pre-order my EVO 3D yesterday and the employee that helped me speculated (and he made it clear that it was speculation) that it's likely to be released on the 24th. Based on how they time release dates with the promotion of their flagship phones (Instinct in 08, Pre in 09, EVO 4G last year), that would be the logical time of it's release.

He said it could be sooner, but based on precedence, it's likely to be out around that time. Again, he stressed that he didn't know it for a fact, so grain of salt, and all the jazz.

After looking at the playbook, I'm pretty convinced that the EVO 3D will be coming out on June 24th. It stresses in multiple places that the Instant Rebates are extended until 6/23/11. If Sprint follows precedent and releases a new phone the day after the Instants expire, that leaves us with Friday, June 24th which is both the day after the rebates expire AND a Friday AND technically Summer.

Hopefully this Wednesday a new playbook will be leaked and we'll get some more info, but until I hear otherwise, I'm going to mentally plan on the 24th.

I suppose this makes sense because it could have a release date around the 19th, making tie-ins with Father's Day as far as advertising. I would say 17th or 24th would make the most sense. The 17th gets it out in time for FD presents, and the 24th would at least let Sprint advertise during the FD weekend. Sounds promising

EDIT: Also, I'm not really sure what "Week 4" indicates, but since this is an internal doc released weekly, I would assume it would mean 4 weeks from that document's release, so that would put it in for a Father's Day release (6/15 - 6/22)

Went to the 'Shack to put my pre-order in today and the sales rep was pretty confident that it was coming out on June 4th. I replied back with "So they released the official date?" and he said, "well no, but that's the date". When I looked at him like he was smoking crack, he went to the back to get his proof. He came back with their pre-order form, which of course didn't have the info....and he was shocked. He said "wow, I can't believe it's not on here, but that's the date".

Now I'm taking this with a huge grain of salt as I recommend everyone of you do as well. He was new to RadioShack so he might have heard some bum info...

It is unlikely Sprint is going to do instant rebate for a launch as big as the Evo3D, even though they should in my opinion.

So it would seem to make sense that they would wait till the rebates end before launching the Evo3D.

Either way, it's a safe bet that the 4th week of June will be gameday for the Evo3D.

Going to be an exciting product for sure.

Well any day in June would be better than the response I got today. My corporate Sprint store wasn't taking pre-orders on Monday but when I called today they had started, so I went in and placed a pre-order. I asked when they expected it to be released and he told me late July.

Lets consider that the local Sprint store reps know less than people on this forum 99% of the time. I doubt they are going to become Nostradamus on this one issue. They are speculating about as much as we are.

I think that playbook thing is for 3rd party retailers, and 3rd party retailers aren't going to get the phone until "week 4" which will be around father's day. RS, BB and Sprint Corporate stores will get it June 4th

After looking at the "playbook", and seeing the Evo 4G still listed in the new device special offers section that goes from 6/5 to 6/23, I tend to think that best case scenario is we'll see the Evo 3D on 6/24. Everything in that playbook is basically from 6/5 to 6/23, and they just throw in the same old intro flyer for the Evo 3D at the end, with no price or release date, and it says week 4.

So 6/24 in my opinion is the BEST CASE scenario however. It very well could linger out until July, especially if they were initially planning on releasing early June and were forced to delay the launch due to problems etc.

I'm not banking on this device until late June, early July at the earliest based on these documents. If the Evo 3D was even close to launching in the 6/5 to 6/23 timeframe, they would make mention of it in the new device offers section. They wouldn't completely leave it off there, while still pushing the Evo 4G.

I'm so upset cause I got rid of my EVO and am using my Purple Lotus cause I was hoping it would be out June 4th. :-( So now I am stuck with my purple Lotus for like the whole month of June.

I was just on the HTC website and saw they changed the EVO View 4G clock date to June 24th. Sprint started taking pre orders for the 3D and the View at the same time so they will probably start selling them at the same time.....so it could be possible that the 24th would be the date. I also took a look at the sensation clock date and it had June 8th on it and thats the current rumored date for it.

Lol just a thought.

I'm not due for my upgrade till June which is tomorrow but that's silly to get another EVO. And I was told after I turned it in it they were going down from 150 to 135. Plus Sprint gave me a one time promotional credit to resign so I'm just going to have to wait. I had already wiped my EVO clean anyway cause of a Craigs List person wanting it and then they never showed up.

hmmmm.....I did notice that the date for the view was set to 6/24; however, I'm not so sure it has any relevance. The evo was set to 6/1, yet it was release 6/4. The shift said 1/3, though it was release 1/10. The only part that I found was interesting is that they changed the dates on one page but not on the other. On the home page, the evo view shows February while on the other page it shows 6.24. I still would not put much stock into it.

If I remember correctly, last year Sprint sent out the same emails about the EVO and about 2 weeks after we got the email the EVO was released.

I think this phone will be out in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Release date: 6/24 nationwide; 6/21 for SP members.
