How much it takes to recharge?

How much it takes for your phone to recharge? I feel there's something bad with my phone.
You see, I'm a BlackBerry former and my Bold 9000 used to recharge from 0 to 100 in about 90 minutes.

My LG Optimus P500 recharges in about 5 hours. Maybe more.
Is it the phone or the Android system?

How much does it take for your phone to fully recharge?
If you don't know from 0 to 100 just approximate the best you can.

It depends on the size of the battery capacity and the charging current.
My HTC Desire with 1400 mAh capacity is charged with 1000mA from 20 to 100 in 2 hours .

EDIT: Desire extrapolated: 0 to 100 in 140 minutes.
But if I charge with the standard USB 500mA charging current (on PC), then my Desire needs about 5 hours.

So I think, the reason for your long charging time is your charger.

I have a BlackBerry Tour for work. I generally charge this phone via my computer at work. When doing it this way, it takes 4 hours or more to fully charge. The reason is that micro-USB ports on a computer doesn't provide as much juice as a micro-USB wall charger. If I'm charging it at home, I use the wall charger and it probably takes about 2 hours or less to charge it.

If you want to charge up your phone faster than via the computer, you can either buy a wall charger or you can by a wall adapter. My HTC Desire Z comes with the USB to micro-USB cable. It also comes with a wall outlet to USB adapter for the cable as well.

I'll use my Incredible as an example. It's rated (if using the stock 1300mah battery) to charge from 0-80 in about an hour, and 0-100 in about 3 hours...turned off. It charges slower when turned on. Also, that's using AC. Using USB takes about twice as long. That's actually normal.

One thing that many people don't understand is that batteries have a form of internal resistance that causes them to charge slower as they fill. As a result of this, charging from 0-20 is MUCH faster than charging from 80-100.

Turned off your phone should charge in about 4 hours tops. When on, it will charge much slower.

I know about the resistance. I said 0-100.
I just tried the wall charger. It does seem a bit faster, until now. Got to see how long until it takes to 100%

. However, by the rate (currently at 34% from 2% in 30 minutes) it's charging now it seems it will do about 1.5 - 2h.

My galaxy S charges in 3.5 hours considering charge level is at 20 % and takes 15 more mins if charge is at 10 %

PS. my galaxy is Super LCD version which comes with new 1650 mAh battery,regular galaxy S comes with 1500mAh.

Again, depends on battery capacity and the current the charger supplies. Blanket statements like this are fairly pointless.

Absolutely. USB supplies 500mA. By comparison, the wall charger that came with my Droid supplies 850mA. The more current, the faster the charge.

It's not microUSB specifically, it's USB in general that's limited to 500mA.

Not all wall chargers offer the same specs. Again, pay attention to the current supplied by the wall charger. Don't make assumptions -- check the specs.

Update: Charged from 0-100% in 2.5 hours.
It took exactly 2h to hit 82% and then another 30 minutes to hit 100%.
Guess the resistance is a myth.

Gonna wait until it goes down and then do the same thing with the computer charger. See what the time difference in % is compared to the wall charger.

Phone was not off - however I didn't use it - it only had EDGE active, it didn't ring, I didn't receive any SMS.

Not pointless. I have owned and used a lot of phones, and have yet to have one take longer than 2.5 hours to fully charge on a wall charger. Granted I missed the usb charging part, but he uses the wall charger with the phone on and lo and behold...

If you want to see the course of the charging (% over the time), you could use the app 'Battery Graph'.

No speculation at battery resitance necessary

EDIT: Even better, 'Battery Monitor Widget' shows the charging current over the time.
