Just removed my screen protector.... WOW.

I'd yank my screen protector if it weren't for the fact that the naked screen gets covered with my greasy fingerprints way too quick. Glare and fingerprints are the only reasons I can think of for using those things. I had my X bare... no screen protector, no case, and dropped it across the pavement where it skidded about 10 feet to my horror... and not a scratch! The first time I ever dropped my iPhone, it cracked horribly down the back, even though it was in a case, and that was only four feet straight down to a hardwood floor.

I'm considering yanking mine.

TMI! TMI!!

My DX has been naked since launch day. Screen looks just as good as it did when I unboxed it.

I used a Zagg on my LG Dare and used a Verizon protector on my Eris. It created friction on my fingertip while web page scrolling, which I didn't realize till I removed it just before I sold it. I'll never go back to protectors.

I put ghost armor on all my tablets and phones. Looks great, has a lifetime warranty, and doesn't distort the screen at all.

I am afraid you are wrong. All protectors degrade the screens somewhat. No protector is 100% opaque and 100% clear.

The problem is without a protector you may get scratches if your rough with your phone, or carry keys in your pocket.

I have always been an advocate of using screen protectors (spent a fortune on every premium protector on the market) but decided to go "au natural" since I got my X (around November 2010) and despite every type of abuse it still does not show a scratch. It has been shoved in my pocket against my keys on a near daily basis, been to the beach numerous times, and looks as good as the day I got it.

I hated the screen protector the Verizon people put on my Droid X, but after accidentally dropping my phone in the oven, for the short amount of time it was in there (3-5 seconds), the screen protector seemed to take the majority of the heat and melted slightly, but no damage to the screen! So it's ugly but a good investment if you're a clumsy dope like me.

I use Boxwave. You can go to www.boxwave.com and get their "ClearTouch Crystal" version. The cost was $12.95

I was running a WM Imagio and actually used the Boxwave screen protector for a year, then moved it from that phone onto my DX. I ordered a new one but haven't put it on yet because the initial protector fits and works well.

My brother had a piece of garbage protector from Verizon, and he was convinced that my Boxwave protector was significantly superior.

I can't believe this thread. Unless you had some kind of tint to it the verizon screen protector is just fine. I took mine off from verizon and put the ultra clear on and I didnt see any major improvement. There was no WOW factor after seeing my screen naked. I can't believe i fell for this!

I saw my friend's phone that had the verizon cover and it was very grainy compared to my ultra crystal cover.

Ultra crystal and verizon silicone case. I'm waaaaaay too rough with my phone to go without. No complaints about the screen protector what so ever. I've used other x's without protectors and can't tell a difference...other than in the end my phone will still look brand new other than the wear on the buttons.
