Help 4 windows in Gingerbread browser

Hi,

I've just updated the SGS to Gingerbread and found the stock browser goes from 8 to 4 browser windows max. There's no obvious way to increase it. What gives?

Seems to be the case - use another browser seems to be only solution. Firefox is awfully slow still - Skyfire is a bit faster. Haven't tried Dolphin for a while.

Any reason why? 4 windows is almost unusable. The whole browser seems to have a whiff of incompleteness about it actually. Earlier today it froze and just as a force close box popped up, the entire phone crashed and restarted - I was only using Hotmail, not some flash-heavy site.

It seems that they give with one hand and take with the other.

Dont think this is a GB issue as I bought my galaxy s in April 2011 which came with 2.2.1 installed and I can only open 4 windows too which can be annoying. Which version lets you open 8 windows?

2.2 and 2.1 Let you open 8 windows.

Apart from the 4 windows issue I find the browser to be a great improvement. I downloaded Dolphin HD but I found it to be slower than the default browser so uninstalled it and would use the default browser only.
