Can you recommend a case?

When I bought my Infuse it came with a case. The inside seems a little less plush than I would like to protect the finish, and especially the screen. I like the horizontal kind that clips over the belt (but one with a swivel clip is OK). If it is one of those hardshell cases that might be OK as long as it can also be clipped to the belt. Can anyone recommend a case/holster?

I'm also searching for a belt clip case that won't be too bulky. However, other than what AT&T has in stores (around $30), I have not found anything yet. I've ordered one from Amazon. The page clearly stated that the case was for the Samsung Infuse 4G, but I returned the case when I got it: it was too small and too short. So, I'm waiting a little while longer. The phone is still very new. The only thing I got was a rubber case by Qubits. It provides some protection and make the phone stick inside your pockets. :) Not quite what I was looking for...

The silicone case was actually recommended because the screen protector I'm using should be used without a case. I'm not really thrilled with the idea of not using a case, if for no other reason than to carry it around. The caveat, if I really want to use a case I should use the silicone type. I guess they fit around the phone in such a way that they don't affect/interfere with the screen protector?

strodda and ReggieSmith, do either of your cases provide a means to clip to your belt? I want something where I can quickly and easily get the phone to answer a call, then put it back. The case I have now, which I stopped using is one of those completely enclosing holster type with the magnetic flap to close it. Probably cheaply made, it came with the phone when I purchase it, but is a pain to get the phone in and out of.

Egidio,
I've thought about putting it in my pocket but was afraid I would forget it was there and damage it. Might have to do that though, if I don't see anything for wearing it on the belt. Not use to this size phone, so I guess it is at risk no matter where I have it, but I am use to wearing a phone on my belt. Thanks. Will check out the link.

I do not use any screen protector and I probably wont ever. Setting the phone down on its face, on a flat surface, is safe because the case has tiny raised edges. I haven't tried all the different brands, but I noticed a difference when putting on a screen protector in my iphone. The colors just look a little more vibrant without one.

And like mentioned before, no beltclio and I too just put it in my pocket. It is very light and hardly.noticeable.

somanyapps,

I think it's a matter of time before we see many cases out there. Like you, I'm used to carrying my phone in a case w/ a belt clip. I just don't want to pay $30 for what AT&T currently sells. :)

Egidio,
Thanks. I know what you mean about the price. In the meantime you want something to provide a level of protection.

I've discovered yet another consideration. I bought the car mount so I can have the phone mounted primarily for navigation. The mount is pretty nice. Seems sturdy. It is a little tricky getting the phone out of the mount, but that is probably just a matter of learning the best technique. The biggest issue I've found with the phone, not just in using the mount, but in general, is with the on/off button and volume toggle directly opposite each other right where it seems is the best place to grab the phone to pull it out of the mount. Again, I'll get use to it. Anyway, back to my point. I would bet that many cases, if not all, will not be compatible with the mount. In other words, it fits so snugly and precisely (the mount has a sliding section that plugs into the mini-USB port) that the case would have to be removed in order to put the phone in the mount. So, while I don't see myself using the mount all the time, for those times when I do I'll want a case that comes off fairly easily.

I went ahead and purchased the Rockfish Snap-On shell case, to have something that works for now and maybe for the long term. It does not clip on the belt, but I'll try going without one. It does take a bit of effort to get the case off so I can put it in the mount, but as I stated previously, hopefully with a little practice it will be easy enough. I must say that I did not anticipate the difficulty and expense involved just to protect the phone. It was much simpler with the old flip phone I had. My biggest regret is that I should have opted for no screen protector and waited until I had the case I wanted before deciding whether I needed one.

Is there an adjustable generic car dock that would work with the Infuse with its case on? i'm thnking that a car holder/dock that isn't quite so fitted might be the answer. Does the Infuse car dock do anything except hold the phone? When the phone is in the dock, do you run the charging cable from the phone to the cigarette lighter.
