Under settings, locations and security
do you have "use wireless networks" and "gps" and "user sensor aid" ticked?
The wider area one is usually the wireless networks, but for GPS you do need 3 satellites minimum to get a perfect spotting! not sure what the sensor aid does!
Worth ticking them on, i also found the first couple of times you turn on GPS it takes a while something to do with the location updating... i remember this took 5mins on my old hero the first time i turned it on, then less than 30secs after that! So Galaxy 2 should be much better...

But its not an iphone so id ask for anyone else who has done a GPS time test, to see how long it takes to get a reference? im underground for a bit, so no point me trying!

PS --- Wifi will mean that you wont be using mobile data so AGPS which is probably what speeds the locating up, wont work... some wifi's are located to the registered to the right area while others arent, my home address always says im approx 200 miles north!
