Pageonce, Mint, or.....?

I'm looking for a do all money managing app and looking for recs or suggestions. Has anyone used these and what were your likes/dislikes? What others have you tried and which did you decide to use and why? Thanks!

I've used Mint, both on my main computer via the web, and then an app on my phone. Honestly, I'm not spectacularly impressed by the app. The widgets would fail to update more often than not, and even going into the app itself it wouldn't properly update. Trying to change transactions (by giving them proper names instead of whatever the credit account name was) also didn't work half the time, and I'd give up out of frustration. Since my credit union has a marvelously simple mobile site, and my normal bank isn't too hard to navigate, I've basically given up on using the Mint app, haven't used it in months.

However, they may have fixed some of those problems, so YMMV.

I have accounts with both Pageonce and Mint. It's worth experimenting with both, I think, and which you prefer will partly depend on what your needs are.

Pageonce has the better Android app, IMHO, and if you just want to check account balances and due dates and stuff, that might be the way to go. Mint probably has somewhat broader financial institution support, though, and it has the advantage of giving you a cloud-based checkbook register for each account, where you can edit categories and such in your web browser. I've played with that feature some, but I'm a little hesitant about getting too reliant on Mint because they're now part of Intuit -- a company I'm definitely not a fan of.

Thanks for your response! One thing I am unsure on - do these apps automatically interact with the institutions or do all transactions get entered manually by the user?

Side note/question - why aren't you a fan on Intuit? Just curious...you can message me if you'd rather.

Both those apps automatically interact with your bank and credit card providers -- you don't enter anything yourself. There's a whole other category of Android apps that are designed for manual financial recordkeeping, but I haven't used any of them.

As for Intuit, I could write a book about how evil they are.

The thing that grates the most, though, is their upgrade policy for their desktop apps ... they release new versions every year, making only minimal changes to the feature set, but still charging an arm and a leg for the "upgrade." And then if you don't choose to pay up, after a couple more years they disable the online features of the version that you're still using -- and have paid for! It's their way of forcing you to pay for their crappy upgrades. Grr!

Could you tell me what apps are for manual entry and if there are benefits of that over the ones mentioned above?

I'm trying Pageonce. My problem is is when I added my BofA credit card and my husbands BofA credit card it added my checking account twice so now it gives me a double checking account balance. I tried to delete but it deleted the credit cards too. Any way around this? Would Mint do the same thing? Thanks.

I've been using both for a while now and I definitely prefer Mint. Both have their quirks, but Pageonce seems to flake out on me all the time, mainly not keeping my accounts and cards up to date.

If I recall, you need to add your banking info at the Mint website, then you can use their app to monitor from your phone. But at the website, it was pretty easy to add and delete accounts, though I don't have any actual credit cards (just checking) attached to mine, so I can't tell you if deleting an account takes the cards away too.
