O2 UK - R2BA026 - Factory Unbranded - One Click Root option

2 xtra chinese batteries. Original battery is alot better since buying the phone and the charger that came with the chinese batteries is a decharger as well.

Main thing pisses me of is the sim card unavailable at the top of the phonebook. I know I can maybe change it with another phone (k810i, P1i etc) and i have been looking on ebay for a cheap one but i am not wanting to pay more than

can you tell me what you did cos i have the "sim card unavailable" at top of phonebook too and dont know how to resolve it

Find an old dumbphone (either yours or borrow someones as f981roy did) stick your sim card in to it and go into the settings and edit My Number and save. SE or Samsungs seem to work best. Nokia's haven't been as helpful. Then put it back in your X10 and the number should now show.

Those people that say taht they have "no issues" are you saying that you are 100% with the in call volume? I have to plan my phone calls so that I am inside when I use the phone so that i can hear the person. Are you saying that you could be in a pub and have the phone at less than 100% volume and be able to clearly and without any problem hear the other person?

If I had complaints about the call volume, I would have said so. But I said "no complaints" and I meant it.

I have zero issues with call volume. Yesterday I called my husband outside at a crowded mall (people everywhere) on a train platform during rush-hour with trains going by beside me and buses below me.

I had no issues :p

Is the call volume at 100%? Yeah, it is. But what do I care? It works, so I have no complaints.

Hello there,
I have had this Xperia for 5 mo- no problem
Then about 2 mo ago, it started freezing up and restarting-losing calls
Now it freezes up and restarts after 10 min of use
Rooted it and upgrade to 2.1- Still does the same thing
Thought it was the battery, nope..Still randomly freezes up and restarts.
I have been all over the internet trying 2 find the answer on how or why this keeps happening. Found others having the same problems like me, but stuck in a 2 yr AT&T contract and Sony doesn't wanna fix it (buy our new phone)
Any help at this point would be helpful...

If you go to Settings->About Phone and check it's version, what version of 2.1 are you using? 2.1.58?

Temporarily you could download a Task Manager app and take a look at what apps are running in the background and remove the apps you don't use.

But if you really want to fix the problem you will probably have to go through the following:

First, do a backup of your contacts (do a sync using your gmail account or sony account) and copy what ever you want off the SDCard by plugging it into your computer (or drag and drop/copy everything)
Format the SDCard (completely wipe it clean) then reflash with 2.1 using the x10 Flash Tool

[TOOL] [UPDATE 22/03/2011] Flashtool BETA version 0.2.9.1 - xda-developers

Or you could use SEUS from Sony.

One thing on the phone you could do is reset it too. Goto Settings->Privacy and both reset the Settings and do a Factory Restore.

Then I would let the x10 run with no extra apps and 2.1 for a day. See if it works for a day without any issues. Then the next day, add a few apps and see if it is still working smoothly.

Your problem is most likely related to some junk left over on the SDCard or it is related to an app you have installed (or an app you thought you removed)

Don't reload old messages (especially if you have over 500) and don't do an email sync or anything like that until you feel it is working properly.

vodaphone
BB 2.1.54 BN 2.1.A.0.435
Unrooted (was rooted and rommed but still had issues)

Lagggg! That's the biggest problem (i wouldn't get this phone again because of it)
Call volume low
I've also had lots of random weird issues that I've cleared up but it's been a chore.

To each his own. I haven't had to do a thing to my phone in about 2 months.

Some people complain about the volume....some people block the speaker hole with their finger, or if you open the back, I have seen phone's with more pocket lint than all my pants have combined.

If you are still using the x10 version of Android 2.1, with Timescape and Mediascape and face recognition software, I have no doubts that the phone seems laggy. Only once you have removed the extras does the phone get a little better.

And if you want it to further improve, go all out. Install Busybox, download and install xRecovery, and then load a custom ROM that has been designed to be as fast and smooth as the phone can be....tweaked to near perfection.

But going through those steps can be frustrating and confusing to a lot of people....and sometimes it doesn't go as smoothly as you hope....but it never breaks the phone.

If you ever have a day to mess around with it....I highly suggest it to everyone.

I couldn't have said it better myself! Completely agree. I've had this phone since last August and I still love it. Zipping along on a custom Rom.
