Root [ROM] ApeX V2.0.0 Release Candidate (RC1) (6/6/2011)

Pretty sure you need to download Voice Search to activate voice to text.

Can you elaborate on the Music issue? Did you install any themes? The stock music app works (I can definitely confirm that :))

I installed the REVOlution theme. I can open the stock music app, but I can't play music with it. I downloaded the new Google Music Beta app, and I can play music through it. But I would like to play it with the stock app.

A few notes:

-Only read bug I've found so far is the Gmail Unread widget I use and I think LPP uses force closes. Workaround is to use SMS Unread and modify to check Gmail. LPP no longer redraws like it did constantly on GB.

-My notification bar widgets are still busted. I use Widgetsoid and on Froyo I could pull the notification shade down, tap a widget, and it instantly worked. GB and Apex requires me to pull the shade down, tap the widget, and a popup of the same widget pops up, and I have to hit it again. So twice the taps to do the same thing. Not a dealbreaker, but defeats the purpose of having the notification window. Maybe the next version has them built in like CM? (pretty please?)

-Only had WiFi data connection drop twice in the past few days, as opposed to multiple times per day on GB.

-Battery life has been pretty great. I used it for 12+ hours yesterday, including an hour or so of WiFi browsing and 45 minutes of GPS tracking and still had 50% left. I almost shed a tear (former Incredible owner here).

All stacks up to a fast, stable ROM so far. Thanks, my X is usable again.

The toolbox needs a lot of reworking coming from 1.4.1 to 2.0, it will be included in the final release.

Anyone else having the call log issue? My calls don't connect obviously, but they still get logged. Trooper, did you happen to restore any system data (i.e. Blur phone/contacts data to be exact)?

No sir, everything was vanilla install of your ROM.

Ran across my first issue (it's entirely my fault, to be fair).

I replaced/added/deleted a couple of ringtones in my system/media/audio/ringtones folder, and it caused the phone to crash everytime I click "Android System Ringtones" in the Sounds settings. I copied the audio folder from the Apex RC1 .zip and just pasted it over the audio folder (with the intention of just setting it back to how it was when I first installed Apex), but that didn't even fix the issue.

Any ideas?

I don't think I'll be able to put it in there to be honest. The mod is actually quite simple, but getting a .jar tweak to stick is the trouble. I cannot seem to put a modded .jar file in the initial flash because the system rejects it, and if you do flash a modded .jar file after the initial boot, if you ever make/'restore a backup or factory reset, you'll be in a world of hurt :(

Also, I'm going to make a new thread for RC2. You guides better not merge them all messed up again ;)

I think SimsDelt said he wouldn't do that again ;)
