Where the heck is the multimedia dock?

Pictured here on march 15th, but I have still never seen one for sale. If they had just made the kickstand open the opposite way, it would be unnecessary but as it is, I want one badly. I am getting tired of knocking my phone over every morning when trying to turn my alarm off because it has to sit in portrait to charge, lol. Not to mention the dock is supposed to provide HDMI out and a slot to charge my extra battery.

Anybody seen one?

I'm a noob to Android and have had my TBolt for about 2 months, so don't start throwing things at me yet, I'm just asking to get educated.

I'm just curious about expecting HDMI in a dock. I thought TBolt didn't come with HDMI and doesn't even have a HDMI port, so how is having a dock that allows HDMI make any difference?

Does rooting your TBolt somehow give it HDMI capabilities? Is it from a ROM and if so, how do you connect with it? WiFi possibly?

Just curious, Thanks

I would imagine it works the same way this cable does:

I think the bigger question, is that since the phone doesn't have any HDMI out on it already, how is a dock supposed to magically make it work from there out? If the dock has the output, how is that signal getting from the phone to the dock? Presumably, through the MicroUSB connection between phone and dock, though I remember a post a while back as to if it even supported such a conversion.

Searching the sku from the original phandroid article led me to this:

HTC Thunderbolt Desktop Charger & Sync with Spare Battery Slot

doesn't say anything about hdmi capability, but it looks the same. Price isn't bad either!
I bought this charge cradle, and although it does charge the phone, it sort of sucks. I can't believe there isn't a true multimedia cradle like the one the Droid X had. Now THAT was a cradle. Automatically triggered desk dock mode, nice and sturdy. This cradle here is garbage.

Yeah, I haven't seen any definitive resolution to this question. Good discussion and interesting links here:

Here's another quick option. I grab my car mount and slap it on an old CD cover.
