Help Double Space to make a Period!?!?

Coming from an iPhone 4, it's really frustrating that a double space doesn't insert a period on the Galaxy S2. Is the any way to enable this feature on the default keyboard!? Thanks.

Yes I am and it's not doing it on my SGS2!! Very frustrating.

when typing a message with keypad visible, press the small wheelwork to enter settings, then almost at the bottom select the "Automatic period" (or something like that... mine is in Danish) and Voil

I'm using US English and there is no setting for double space period.

If you're accustomed to iOS keyboards, I HIGHLY recommend trying swiftkey beta. It's free and in the market. It does predictive text (learns from your own vocabulary) and also does punctuation. It made a night and day difference for me (coming from iOS).

Just tested the Samsung keypad. Typed one word then hit spacebar twice and period inserted and advanced 1 space. Check all your settings under XT9 advanced settings and enable them all.

Download the Smart Keyboard from the Android Market. This keyboard is flawless and does exactly what you want and a lot more. There's a trial version too.

I love SwiftKey but it doesn't work in some apps (most notably the built in email app) which is a major issue for me.

Go to the Samsung Keyboard settings and check Auto Full Stop. Full Stop=Period.

The nice thing about android is that there are so many keyboard to choose from.

My favorites are:

Gingerbread Keyboard from Market
SmartKeyboard Pro
SwiftKey

All are much better than the Samsung keyboard.

just found this, and glad i'm not the only one. did you ever find a fix/solution for this? i only got the S2 on on monday and realise this is a huge issue.
been using swiftkeyX for a long time on my HTC Desire, and it works fine on the S2 as well, except for the stock email app

i guess the only solution so far is to wait for them to fix this? or use an alternative email client?

i prefer "GO Keyboard", it also has the option for a peroid with double space.
If you're coming from iPhone, there's an iPhone skin for it too
