And what was wrong with the bruins one? hmmm :p

No, it's nothing against the Bruins at all. I just don't follow pro hockey. I do attend a fair amount of college games (seeing as I live in Duluth- home of the UMD Bulldogs).

Sorry... no arguments here. I just don't care enough about sports.

But... and don't hate me... it was my least favorite of the four icons and bigger than the others ones. I just tried to streamline the quote a bit. No offense intended.

lol I was only joking ;-)

I used bigger for that one because it was a nice colourful image and well I'm a Bruin fan.

As you know I did the smaller ManUtd Sports one previously.

Bit hard to be generic with sports as everyone will be offended by something or will want their own individual teams etc. :)

Can't you use like a pic of just sports equipment? Anyway I was wondering if you had all of your tiles uploaded on imageshack?

HOw do I change the background on the lock screen?? I want it to look like a slider bar and have a background picture? I have a droid charge and launcher pro and launcher pro plus installed

One word... WidgetLocker - paid app in Market.

(Is that one word? Is it even really a word? Who cares... it works wonders!)

Well, I think it's a bit complicated.

Which part? I think we have streamlined :his concept enough for all to use. Granted, not everyone can make their own icons, but there are plenty made by others that are readily available for download.

Is there anything we can do to help your understanding of the process?

I can't find out what the icon resolutions are for a screen with:

-statusbar on
- no dock or whatnot
- 4 collums
- 10 rows

it's 10 rows because I just want a lot of shortcuts on one page

I only need to know the resolution for a 2x1 and a 1x1 tile

please help >.<

First: DO THE TEST.

Second: Post full-sized screenshots of your test. Please also post your device and resolution.

I was thinking of making the icons a bit more square than rectangular by adjusting the rows and column settings but I don't know where to start. I would try that manual widget size test on several row x column values and post a screenshot here. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I have two possible setups:

5 columns by 7 rows with the Notification Bar and Dock on:

Icon widths and heights (they are the same) (I don't remember if I tested this one):
1- 86px
2- 182px
3- 278px
4- 374px
5- 470px
6- 566px
7- 662px

5 columns by 8 rows with the Notification Bar and Dock off:

Icons widths:
1- 86px
2- 182px
3- 278px
4- 374px
5- 470px

Icon heights:
1- 90px
2- 190px
3- 290px
4- 390px
5- 490px
6- 590px
7- 690px
8- 790px

This last setup is the one that I'm using the the LCARS theme (still in progress). The icons are pretty square (give or take a few pixels).

Also, all of these dimensions are based on a 480 x 800 resolution using ADW Launcher.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I would test the 5x7 one out and work on something a bit less squarish.

any suggestions paulmz???/

The background is a little distracting, and the spacing seems to be off a bit between image widgets. Do you have the "Auto-Fit Items" set (if you're using LauncherPro)?

Also, looking at your layout, I think we need some toggle widgets different than the Windows Phone 7 colored tiles. I think I'll work on doing some that have real images that can blend with the other Desktop Visualizer widgets. Another project for the drawing board.

Looks good, though. Thanks for sharing!

No, ADW doesn't have an "Auto-Fit" option. I'm actually using ADWLauncher EX for my Android7 layout now, and the options I have are: Auto Stretch (checked) and Overlap Widgets (unchecked). My icons all line up perfectly... my OCD wouldn't have it any other way.

Maybe it's just the icons that you're using are not all the correct dimensions. It's probably barely noticeable on the device screen, though, and only shows up when it's enlarged on the computer screen.

If it bugs you, though, let me know and we'll work on it.

I have those exact settings checked. I thought it was the only way the tiles could be later out. If you don't mind assisting me with that would be greatly appreciated!
