Root How much faster could rooting make this phone?

The Charge seems to be a pretty solid phone aside from the overall speed, showing a little bit of lag compared to others. I compared it to the Revo in store yesterday and the Revo was much snappier. The DC is acceptable but how hard would it be to make it run faster and smoother when doing things like changing home screens?

I haven't rooted a phone before and while I know you should be able to do a ton of stuff, i'm just wondering if it's possible to get the DC up to the Revo level of responsiveness.

Before rooting if you download Launcher Pro it makes it much faster :D I am still afraid to root my phone. I used to do it with my Windows phone not quite bold enough to try it with my DC

What's the best way to get good widgets when using LP?? It comes with very few.

Im rooted and it runs very fast after doing some minor touch ups + using LPP+. you actually get a good amount of widgets from LPP+ like facebook, twitter, people, messaging, gmail, bookmarks and friends(puts facebook and twitter together to easilly message your friends). And with rooting you can do what they call FREEZE system apps that you dont want/use that will make your phone run faster and snappier.

When using Launcher Pro, can you still get or use the weather & stock market/news widgets that show up on a stock Charge? If so where do you get those? I tried Launcher Pro and saw that it was faster, but I did miss those widgets and went back to the stock TW.

@Ken7 - On any Homescreen in Launcher Pro, tap and hold the screen until the "Add To Home Screen" Box pops up. Then widgets and from the list look for the "Daily Briefing" Widget of your choice. (I hope those are the ones you are talking about) I did like the Weather Bug Widget but I can't find it on that list when I use Launcher Pro.

Anyone having issues with Launcher Pro on the Droid Charge? Mine started to either freeze up after power up (this is after waiting for everything to sync) or no apps after pressing the applications button? Can't find anyone mentioning this on the web.

Complete opposite for me, I've tried stock, ADW, Go Launcher and Open Home and they all had their different issues. Launcher Pro is very smooth for me...but somewhat lacking on theme choices.
