Hey guys. I'm currently running a stock rom on my Evo. I decided I'd try and see if I could eek more battery life out of it by changing the kernel. I've tried this before and it didn't pan out well. I don't remember for sure, but I believe I tried using a Netarchy kernel and afterwards the phone wouldn't stop rebooting. After two cycles it would actually boot up, but within 30 seconds would restart on its own.
I restored with nandroid and pretended the whole sordid affair never happened.
This time, I tried using Kernel Manager lite. I decided on Netarchy ToastMod 4.3.4-446-cfs-havs-more yet again and I'm having the exact same issue. The only twist, this time, is that I recently formatted my SD card and because I'm n00b completely forgot to make a nandroid bckup.
That said, I guess I have a couple questions:
Anyone have any guesses why the netarchy kernels aren't working?
Aside from Netarchy, are there any custom Sense kernels that are worth trying? If not, do I just need to hunt down the stock kernel or are there multiple versions of that too?
And finally, the million dollar question:
I can still access the file system via USB through clockwork recovery, right?
