Accessories What case are you picking up?

Every part of the case is leather wrapped, so I don't see how it could scratch the zoom. To charge it,you don't have to remove the zoom, but you do have to open the case. You could easilycut a hole in the bottom if you wanted to, but I dont see a need to....
one thing people over look is most applications work in any orientation.... so just put the zoom in the case upside down and your charge ports at the top out of the way while use it....

Email sent. ANGRY ONE

Don't have time for a long review or anything. But....

I got my Navitech Case in this last weekend. Took some work to get it in (they sited issues in Japan as having an impact on the dilivery. I ended up getting a shipping refund, then a product refund, and THEN a second product sent without charge. Though it took two unanswered Amazon messages and a claim filed, they did come through in the end. I ended up receiving my case and all my money back. They even said that if I get both cases, to keep them both.

Now, to the case. When I first received it, I couldn't believe how small it was and was worried about fitment. It was a bit tight (probably a good thing), and did leave that little bow at the top around the camera. I decided to leave it closed up for a day or two when not in use to see if the material would stretch a bit to be more accomodating. IT DID!

Right now, I have to say that I love it. It's very minimalistic in my eyes. No unneeded bulk at all. I love that I can pop out the kick stand while watching TV with it on my lap and Xoom away. Also, the case appears dense enough to provide the desired protection. The magnets to hold the cover shut and to hold the kickstand closed are just right.

I would say the only things missing/overlooked are:

  • You DO have to have it open to charge - doesn't bother me at all.
  • Unlike the Kevikev, folding the cover over doesn't really provide much tilt. - Don't think I would use that much and I fear that would eventually cause the cover to always bow outward when closed.
  • There are no cut-outs for the charging light at the bottom or the message light at the top-right. - Again, I know when I've got it plugged in and I can't remember the last time I turned my Xoom on because I saw the message light flashing.

Those three concessions are really nothing to worry about in my eyes. As I've stated, don't think any of them affect my use, personally. YMMV

Hope this helps.

I received my Navitech case today. I ordered it on Apr 15th and it arrived May 2nd.

I concur with bgrutter's observations. Mine bows out over the front camera at the top as well. I need to close up the case overnight to see if can get it to lay flat like bgrutter's. The bottom of mine bows out as well. It seems a touch too wide across the bottom causing it to bow out, particularly when holding the sides.

With shipping it cost around $27. It is acceptable at that price but I wouldn't pay more. It will work for me until the Otterbox is available.

I finally got mine on 4/30 (ordered 3/22). When I wrote to them, they said it probably got lost in the mail, with a lot of others, and offered a refund, or sending another case and refunding the shipping. So I took the shipping refund. So the original order was $13.48 w/shipping, - $4.49 shipping refund, for a grand total of $8.99.

I bought the CaseCrown case a while back from eBay, after reading positive things on here, so I had a case to carry the Xoom around already, but I must say I actually like the Navitech one. I like the CaseCrown one, but the elastic straps on the inside don't hold the Xoom in at all. Makes a good lap case though....the Navitech one isn't as good for that.

I also bought the Luxa2 H4 - Holder for Apple® iPad

Navitech arrived, finally.

Fit has to be the worst. The top "retaining" strip of leather bows out, and even if it were to eventually lay flat, it would certainly cover the camera. With leather goods, maybe each one is a bit different, but there should have been a built-in tolerance for this aspect. Kickstand is OK, but only one position.

Definitely not worth the wait. Nice concept, poor execution.

I bought the Acase for my Xoom. Have used it for 5-6 days now. The black leather looks great and seems very sturdy. It holds the Xoom in fantastic and no way it will scratch it.

However... it does tend to "slip" out of two of the ledges meant to give the Xoom a lesser angle hold. There are 3 ledges... one is about 70 degrees, another 45 deg, and another is maybe 30 deg. When it sits in the 70 deg, it holds fine, but when sitting at the 45 or 30 deg, it can/will slip out. Not so much on its own, but if you have the Xoom sitting on a table, and when you touch the screen, there is a risk it will slip out of the ledge. It's not an overly terrible thing, but it can get annoying.

Despite it looking great and protecting it great, I'm going to look at the other one from Amazon.

Why is everything leather? Why can't there be a hard rubberized case with kickstand? Why can't there be cases that have the fold over door for the kickstand? Ughhhhhh! D:

I think for right now incipio's case is the closest you'll come. Its a hard case/silicone with a kickstand. I have had 3 cases so far and the 4th will arrive Friday. I got motor folio, kevikevs orig leather folio, myjacket "leather" folio. Best quality build was kevs. Best viewing angle though goes to myjacket with the moto in a close 2nd. Kevs carbon case should arrive on Friday and I'll let you know my thoughts

Here is the coupon if any one wants it. You get 50% off the accessories for the Xoom at the Motorola store. I looked at the stuff they have and I don't want any of it. I am getting the Otterbox for my tablet, as I think it will protect it better from a drop then the gel cases they have. Anyway, here you go.

Just thought I'd let everyone know about a decent Folio Case available retail.

I picked up this Belkin UltraThin Xoom Folio from Target for what I thought was $29.99, but might have actually been $39.99 now that I look online (I was just excited when I saw it).

The fit is extremely snug and the camera and all ports are perfectly centered within the slots in the material. It's very similar to the original Motorola Folio, except that it's soft and has a sleeve, rather than hard clasps. Similarly to the Moto Folio, the charging port is not accessible while closed unless you modify the case (really doesn't bother me at all, though I suspect it would be EXTREMELY easy to place a perfect hole).

Best part is that since it's available retail, you could most likely walk into Target with your Xoom and try it out. The packaging isn't quite bullet-proof, though I'm in no any way recommending that you tamper with the sealed package. Perhaps a Sales Associate would assist you. I'm always a little anxious when I order accessories sight unseen.

Hope this helps someone.

Eew!!! I have a leather case but mine is so well done and it fits xoom so nicely that I wonder what went wrong with yours. Well, at least I can see that yours is a bit different from mine!!
