Need a new phone in near future

I bought the HTC Incredible on launch day last year, it got replaced with an insurance replacement a week later (lol accident) and I've had that one for a year and a month now.
But the power button is wearing out (have to press really hard to use it) and I have an upgrade coming up (6/24).
My problem is I don't see any phones right now I want. They either have a locked bootloader or aren't any better than the Inc right now.
If I did get something, it'd either be HTC or Samsung or similar, but nothing right now is up to par. I'd like the SGS2, but who knows when it comes out. Bionic's locked bootloader, Sensation would be nice if it came to VZW. Are there any viable choices for me?

Right now the Charge is the way to go. So far it has had 2 updates and 3 total launch software versions. The phone is being supported and should see Gingerbread soon. I have had no issues with my Charge and I have had mine since before it was available. I also had a Thunderbolt and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Either go with the Charge or wait. Nothing has been announced so far and the first gs2 variant that hits Verizon may or may not support lte.

Honestly, I'd go in and play with what they have now. If nothing impresses you, keep watching for new phones and play as they come. Eventually you'll find your "one". ;)

Another consideration is 4G in your area or soon to be? If not, you've got time to get a Dinc2 and wait for the dust to settle on multi-core phones and 4G LTE networking.

Yeah I currently live in OKC which has LTE coverage and when I move back to school in the fall it's still covered.
Does the Charge have an unlocked bootloader? And does it have any dev support as opposed to the TBolt? :/ The Charge seems nice, I'd need to go in and check it out though.

I need to visit Verizon anyways to check out the netbooks for my mother. Hers is due for an upgrade and she's debating getting a new one (it's getting intensely hot and battery life is lowering way too fast) so I'll go in to inspect both.

WE ARE LITERALLY IN THE SAME BOAT

I just destroyed my Incredible and I'm currently suffering using my old blackberry curve 8330-___-

you bought your incredible on launch day like me so I assume you only want the best available when it comes to your next device... with that being said... NOTHING is up to par right now on Verizon so just wait like me hahaha :(
