Did you get a google music invite?

I got mine about 4 days ago and have since uploaded 1600 songs. It works great! I really like it.
I think I got the invite because I'ma pretty active Google user, gmail, analytics, I've made a couple apps, Buzz, reader, voice, Android, picasa...

They even gave me a free Logitech Google TV when they had that free giveaway about 6 months ago! I think I'm a customer for life.

I got my invite about a week ago (maybe 4 or 5 days). Have I added any music? NO! Why, you might ask, Well...the upload client supports windows and OSX only. Not Linux. Worst is that I cannot get the download button to work as it does not detect my OS to be windows. So I cannot even get the exe to install under wine. Overall, I want to love the service but cannot even try it,

Have you tried VMWare? I dont really know enough about linux to give you much other help than alternates to Wine.

I started uploading my music right before I posted in this thread on the 12th. Ive got about 200 more songs left out of 13000 uploads. It rejected another 350 files due to DRM crap, and unsupported format. So in total, about five days to upload all my music. Its SUPER slow. I dont know why it listens to each song because it doesnt tag everything right. Well, atleast Ive got all my music uploaded now:)

I did have to shut it down a couple times though. After it was uploading for more than a day and a half straight, it would start to just gulp resources. I just restarted it and let it go back to uploading.

Yeah, I have to get to that. I do have a W7 VM for other software, so it is not that big of a deal. It is just absurd. They linux program would be easy to write (the program really does nothing more than send files to a remote server, right?). It is more annoying than anything. ANyway, from the three free songs they gave me, the service looks cool. -Nkk

I dont think so. I think it digitally listens to the songs. I mentioned that earlier, but I still dont know why. It keeps bringing up realplayer and checking stuff through threre. It doesnt label stuff right though sometimes. I wish they would implement IDv1 or IDv2 tagging.

I did, but don't worry you are not missing much, I don't even use it. I started with Amazon MP3 and it is amazing. You can get so much more space free with Amazon than with Google. The only thing I can think that is positive about Google Music is the layout is cool but I am sticking with Amazon MP3 for me.

o_O Not for free you dont. Youve gotta buy an album in order to get their free upgrade. Google Music is 100%* free.

Got my invite but never actually saw the email. I happened to try logging into Google Music and bam I was in. Kinda weird, I even kept checking my spam and nothing. So far 4,000 songs uploaded and still going. The uploading is a bit slow, but I am not going to complain about a free service.

Well, atleast Im not the only one that was invited without actually getting an invite email. haha.

@rabernet Try logging in. You might not have gotten an invite, but you may be accepted already. Thats what happened to me and Dweber.
