Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

You can make a new thread on your 1000th post :D Maybe about the AOSP/Clean Android ROM by Joestone? :D Many prefer vanilla Android :rolleyes:

Nice idea! :p

I've decided to make a new thread which'll contain every ROM out there for the GT540, from stock 2.1 to CM7 :D So no more posts on here till I do that :p

Give it time, sometimes when you flash a Rom, it can remain stuck on the logo screen for a long time before starting up on the initial startup. I panicked the first time at how long it took, but everything was fine after about 5 minutes.

Hey guys, running 2.3.4.
So the problem I have, is my battery... Now, one day the phone just wouldn't boot, so I clockworked and reset the handset, started over everything was fine, then I unplugged the guy from the pc (charging) and batt life was completely wacked, was full... then 40% then dead, then turned it back on, now it was 70% then dead...

So i was like, okay, maybe the batt state would fix, so I did that reset, and booted up again.

It still seems to be weird, I can leave it charging all night, and wake up, and the phone will be dead, I can leave it charging while I watch it, and it will never reach 99% or 100% and when I I unplug the phone, it will drop by 10% sometimes even more. Then when I plug it back in, its never the same as it was befor i unplugged it, and 30s off a charger doesn't use 20% battery.

Help, please? Its not such a big problem, as Im always around the charger if it gets low, but... its just frustrating when im not.
Just seems like the phone is reading the charge wrong? or have a stuff my batt when i reset the state?

well that happened to me before but i managed to fix it..when the cmd says "it's not an internal or external command" it simply means that the file isn't on the Android folder that you are suppose to create at driveC...so check if all the files are there(system.img, boot.img) coz if those files aren't there then "it's not an internal or external command" would appear...i hoped i helped somehow...goodluck!

How do I get the battery percentage to count down by 1's?
I made this stat_sys_battery.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<level-list
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<item android:maxLevel="0" android:drawable="@android:drawable/stat_sys_battery_0" />
<item android:maxLevel="1" android:drawable="@android:drawable/stat_sys_battery_1" />
<item android:maxLevel="2" android:drawable="@android:drawable/stat_sys_battery_2" />
<item android:maxLevel="3" android:drawable="@android:drawable/stat_sys_battery_3" />
<item android:maxLevel="4" android:drawable="@android:drawable/stat_sys_battery_4" />
<item android:maxLevel="5" android:drawable="@android:drawable/stat_sys_battery_5" />
all the way too 100

I replaced the stat_sys_battery.xml in framework-res/system-ui (i cant remember which) with this one, but it didnt work.. it still counts down in 5's/10's

I do have the graphics for each percentage in the framework-res dramwable-mdpi, and that works find, it just goes from 100,99,98,95,90,85 etc..

Thanks :)

Found a slight glitch with M6. The battery stats don't reset when it is plugged in. Have a look below:

I've updated my phone with this rom, but now I cannot get my lg to choose & use one of my ringtones or mp3's as I use to do before.
When the phone rings he just plays any song on my lg and I cannot fix it, whatever I do. Is it a bug ? Or should I try something else.

You want to use an MP3 on your SD card as your ringtone? Download and install Tone Picker from the Market and you can use that to set it :)

Wow's, looks like your getting into the developing :p Honestly I can't help with this, I have no idea how these files work; I understand them just not how to mod them :p I'd reckon you should ask Mur4ik (Mur4ik's Twitter) or another dev to help you, or maybe Google around :)

Wow, that's pretty bad.. Try this:
  1. Charge the phone up till it says it's full
  2. With the charger still plugged in, boot into recovery mode (hold Home on power on)
  3. Navigate to Advanced>Wipe battery stats
  4. Reboot and see if that's fixed your problem, take out the charger and let it reset and do it's thing, then try chrage up again :)
