If you watch the local news, the weather forecast should show which weather stations are close to you. Then you will just have to try various weather apps to see if that weather station is available.

I use WeatherEye as it seems to be affiliated with The Weather Network in Canada. If you tell us your country, perhaps some member can give you a good recommendation on an app for your country.

I like Weather Bug Elite the best. I find it smooth, accurate, and the radar works very well. It never gets choppy or laggy. Also the widgets are rather stylish.

Honestly, to me its between Beautiful Widget Pro and Weather Bug Elite.
I like BWP because its the most customizable AND cleanest looking weather or widget app you could ever have on your phone. I love WBE though because it has ALL the information, its pretty customizable too, and its an actual application and a widget rather than just a widget.

you gotta pay for it. 2.99 but trust me you'll thank me later that you did. It has everything your looking for. It has about 12 different widget layout option. It's the best looking one also

Palmary beats the tar out of every other app except for the maps. For maps I have rainy days linked to beautiful widgets for quick access.

Palmary Weather has a great layout and hi-res graphics. However a weather app is only as good as the source of it's data. If you have a reporting station close to you then it's a good app. However in the San Jose,CA area it only uses airports for reporting stations and therefore i have the same weather reporting for 4 of the cities i want to track and they are all about 10-20 miles apart.

I had to revert back to Weatherbug Elite due to this, otherwise i would definitely be using Palmary.

I wish someone developed a weather app that would use Wunderground as the data source.

I'd like to find an app that basically does something similar to the stock HTC weather app that came with my Desire, ie a 4x3 widget where I can add several cities of my choice including My Location and which updates automatically at intervals of my choice - and which doesn't freeze all the time like the stock one does.

I've tried out the Beautiful Weather Widgets, but the largest one I could find was 4x1 and it hasn't updated the weather info in the past 24 hours (not even when I select refresh). Perhaps the paid one is better?

The Weatherbug widgets doesn't seem to go up to 4x3 and I don't seem to be able to have several cities in the actual widget.

I used elecont weather on windows mobile (HTC diamond) and now I found it in android market with new name: "weather alerts quake barometer"It does not have radar, but has about 20-th diffrent widgets(1x1, 2x2, 4x1, 1x4, 2x4, 4x4,3x3 etc) and excelent hourly forecast.I like EW because it has METAR !!!

I have WB elite - It's mostly OK except for Radar. I wind up using Accuweather for radar.
Any good standalone Radar apps? That look like NOAA or TV weather? I'd like to can Accuweather.

I have WB Elite free from Amazon, but uninstalled and now use Weather Buddy and Instant Radar. Together they save me at least 2mb of app storage, and pretty much do the same thing as the "big boy" apps. I just want plain and simple.... like what's the temp today here or in Houston or in Tampa...

I use Weather forecast widget - Android app on AppBrain (paid).
I have it pulling my calendar (CalenGoo) so get upcoming events plus the forecast (from Weatherunderground) on my home screen. It does just show the basics though, current temp and condition, hi/lo temps and future/forecasted conditions (sunny/cloudy etc.). For radar I just have a shortcut to the Weatherunderground mobile site, it's quicker than tapping the widget and waiting for it to load the non-mobile site.
It's nice for the basic forecast and there are a lot of widget/skin options. Basic, clean and simple...plus my calendar. Love it.

My preferences, not in any particular order, are
Palmary weather- Only setback being that they only seem to source their data from Airports mainly so if no airport is near you then the data given is mainly inaccurate.

I got Palmary Weather and don't get be wrong, the app is amazing, plus the widgets are the best. There are about 10 different sized widgets with beautiful graphics. But I love detailed maps and Palmary's maps are horrible. I mean bad. No zoom, no pan and don't even take up the whole screen.

Because of this, I grabbed Rainy Days just for radar. It too is a great app, but the radar graphics are quite blocky and low res. The developer says that is how the weather service provides the data.

Then how does Weather Bug have such a nice looking Radar? I am going to try out WB Elite soon I think. :cool:

I'm trying Instant Radar. Seems pretty good so far. The AccuWeather apps' radar tab now takes you to the AccuWeather mobile site. Now the radar actually animates. This must be a recent change.

I still say that which app works the best depends on where you live. Some small towns, like mine, do not have any local weather reporting stations. Therefore, you have to settle for weather reports from nearby towns. WB Elite has been the best for me because of the weather station at our local school.

I just found this new awesome radar app guys. Its called Raindar:

Uses google maps, shows storm tracking, has a compass on it, allows you to change the reflective angle setting on the different radar images to eliminate "noise"....this app is awesome! Rainy Days who??? (plus rainy days just went add supported :mad:

Most weather apps I have tried all assume you are in the US.

But I have just seen this

I decided a nice "weather app" is no app at all. I looked up the time/temp phone numbers in 3 or 4 cities I might want to check weather, made contacts out of them (labeling them with "Time-Temp and city name"). Made desktop shortcut with weather icon on screen. I use GrooveIP so calls are free. So I just click the icon and hit speakerphone, and the weather is read to me. I also use m.wund.com if I want a more detailed forecast and radar, using browser link.

I liked WB a lot, but it would somehow lose it's location and then display "error loading location data" or something like that. It would try to sync endlessly. I ended up deinstalling it because it was so irritating.

I've run into this problem from time to time. I think it might be due to a bad signal. Most times just opening the widget and doing a refresh fixes the problem. Other thimes I've had to trash the widget and recreate it.

i'll tell you I love Weather Bug. Not many people will agree with me. But I love it. I love being able to read in detail storm severity and stuff like that. The widget isnt the best looking but it does the job. The information is what I am after not a cool looking widget. If your like me get weather bug. I tried the weather channel app, I really didnt care for it.

I've been using WB Elite, and it's pretty good.

BerryWeather (for BlackBerry) is the best mobile weather app I've used, and they've just opened up a public beta for an Android version. Haven't tried it yet, so I don't know how it compares the the BlackBerry version.

wouldnt be a better idea to hv a timer/scheduler weather only tells u da weather in da morning b4 we go work (on notification bar), auto kill itself to save ram n power in da afternoon n nite
