Battery usage for the day:

SDC12158.JPG

Used the phone heavily for the first 3 - 4 hours and then actually had to get some work done :p I was mostly taking 3D pictures and videos.

Now Fattank will probably come in here and post a processed version of this photo where he has somehow isolated the reflection in the screen and you'll all see my hands holding the camera lol.

Also, I've added some more pictures to the Picasa album mentioned in my OP.

My first impressions:

The screen is absolutely beautiful.

The 3D is better than expected. Didn't take much for me to find this sweet spot everyone was talking about.

Device just seems more refined than the EVO 4G.

Using wifi only my battery has gone from 100% to 98% in about 1 hour.

Overall I like the feel of the EVO 4G in my hand better, but I will easily get used to the 3VO.

I did register with the HTC movie app service and it just gets hung up on downloading the license. How long has it taken other people to get past the downloading the license?

Got the update. Now instead of The Green Hornet getting stuck on the downloading license, I get the maximum activation 0 error like others are having. Maybe this will be fixed on launch day?

I'm not able to get to the movie either. My guess is the licenses aren't good until the 24th.

Something worth noting is that the front screen is slightly recessed, so if you have to set it on a surface, you'd be pretty safe setting it on the screen. Especially if you have a screen protector and/or Ghost Armor.
Also worth noting if you set your phone on it's back on a flat surface only a very small part of the bottom of the glass touches the surface because of the angle. Looks like it was designed to do that. I would still feel much better with a case keeping it off of anything but this'll do for now.

Something else to add:

Connecting to my home wifi; Speedtest results - average of 3 tests

3VO - d/l 15 mb/s_u/l 4.1 mb/s
EVO 4G - d/l 9.71 mb/s_u/l 4.0 mb/s

So that's a nice jump in wifi d/l speeds

Edit - Forgot Ping

3VO - 24.66 ms
EVO 4G - 53 ms

I forgot to mention that in my short review as well. For me wifi, 3g and 4g speeds are all the same compared to my evo as far as I can tell.

Is the Spiderman game still pre-loaded? Has anyone tried it? Has anyone played the EVO version of the game and have any thoughts about the comparison of the two?

It's preloaded. I'm not much of a phone gamer, but it's decent enough. The 3d effect is cool and easily seen for the most part. I never played it on the EVO.

I have both games on eacjh version of the EVO. I was pleasantly shocked at how nice the 3D effect was on the newest EVO. In the begining of he game a female was running and she seemed like she was running right towards me and would jump out of the phone. To see the least I was very upset about HTC including 3D at the expense of a better camera, etc but I am thoroughly impressed and am glad I wasnt the one making the decision..LOL>>>

If you turn on gps on the Evo, even if you're not using it, it will slow your wifi speeds - this seems not the case on this year's newer handsets.
