new to the android - recently got a new gt540 - after much searching i found the correct APN settings (least i assume they are the correct settings...) i can send and receive MMS messages.
my issue is. even with background services off and no automatic updating i still get data charges! sometimes it will come out to 1-2$ !!?? and i do not surf the net with the phone nor even check my email. for the most part these charges happen during the day when i am at work, so i have no need for data on the phone.
i am very frustrated. i like the phone, it was a replacement for my old 3g iphone that met the pointy end of a lake. anyone have ne ideas or ways that i can stop this?
i was even thinking of a data plan, but they (att) only offer 100mb packages to the prepaid users, and at 20$ (per the prepaid site where i pay my bill) and 100mb for 20$ seems....well, i actually dont know but it doesnt seem like much
