Clearing useless apps that come with the phone?

There are some useless things that came with my version of the S2 on Three network.

For example when I open my app drawer there's an icon in there titled "win cash" and it leads to some website. I can't seem to get rid of it.

Any tips as to how to get rid of some of the crap that is pre-loaded on the phone?

My tip is don't bother.

The phone is fast and has lots of storage space. Getting rid of the cruft will make almost no noticeable difference.

However, if you insist on doing so you have a few options.
1. root your phone and manually uninstall the apps you don't want
2. root your phone, install Titanium Backup Pro and freeze the apps you don't want
3. flash a generic ROM, which won't have any of the cruft in the first place.

Number 2 above is the easiest and lowest risk option.

There are no options that do not involve rooting your phone. Samsung does not particularly want you to be able to uninstall the cruft and has not made it easy.

If you are reasonably technical, rooting your phone or flashing a new ROM should not hold any fears for you, but if it goes wrong (possible but unlikely if you are careful) you will be left holding an expensive paper weight.

Bugs me when someone like Samsung make a great phone with tons of memory and people like Orange decide to start filling it up with Apps we don`t want/need and don`t work anyway. Such as Orange Maps. It`s never worked and can`t uninstall it.

God yeah Orange did fill it with absolute Tat they really did. If you decide to use orange maps over Google maps then you need shooting. :D
