I posted this on 6/25, but my post has been deleted or vanished so I'll try again. If I broke a forum rule and a mod took care of it, I apologize, but how about a PM or a warning or something so I know why it was gone?
In any case, I'll try again since I think it's a good tip.
I was using Sprint's website to purchase a new family plan with 2 lines, both Evo 3D's, so each phone was $200. There is a advert on Sprint's main page with a promotion code to get an additional $50 off each phone, making them $150. It was a delayed rebate, but still counted in my book.
When it came to checkout, Sprint was having a problem connecting to Chase (my bank) so it wouldn't process the transaction properly. I ended up calling Sprint and spent a while on the phone sorting the issue out since I had definitely been charged, but Sprint wasn't recognizing that my order went through.
But because I called, the Sprint Reps switched my $50 credit to an instant rebate, and added the $125 credit for porting a number from another carrier(that officially expired 6/23) onto each line that I transfered, effectively making my two Evo 3D's only $25 each.
So, if you haven't ordered one yet, call Sprint and do it over the phone. A rep in the store might hook you up the same way, but I didn't even have to ask for it over the phone, it was freely offered.
Few things here:
1) If I'm understanding what you wrote correctly, you received a credit from Sprint due to your unique situation where a problem occurred with your bank and Sprint's checkout process.
2) If that's true, then the credit that Sprint gave you applies to you only.
3) If the intent of your post is to inform people that they MIGHT get a credit from Sprint if they contact them for a similar problem, then there's nothing wrong with what you posted.
4) If your intent is to inform everyone of a loophole or a way to game the system, that's a big no-no, and we may/will censor the post.
5) typically if a moderator removes a post for whatever reason, we do PM the poster to give them the heads up, especially if you violated forum rules. You may even receive an infraction notice. The fact that you didn't receive anything makes me think that your post may have simply been moved or merged with another thread for organizational reasons. You can use your UserCP (a link in the top blue bar, all the way to the left) to track all of your recent posts. Perhaps another moderator can shed some light here.
