Root Phone does not recognize SD card or pc

I recently tried to root my phone, some things went wrong and my phone ended up seemingly back at the factory resets. After this there are some charging problems and now when I turn on my phone it says "SD card removed" I have tried putting a new SD card in and it says the same thing.

I wiped everything off the SD card and did a clear storage on the phone but it did not work.

Also my phone is not recognized when plugged into a PC.

Any help would be great. Thanks

now when you say somethings went wrong, what do you mean? do you have s-off? what is your hboot? do you have a custom recovery?

try formatting the card from your phone.

I rooted it and everything worked fine. I went back into the boot screen and went into clockwork mod and did a recovery, ever since then its been all messed up

that is why i do not like clockwork mod. most of the issues i see people are using clockwork mod. i'm not necessarily saying that clockwork mod is the root cause of most issues, but the two usually are very common together. i never hear anything about amon ra. so you might want to think about switching recoveries. you can get amon ra2.3 here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/259446-clockwork-amon-ra-pc36img-files.html

ok i would like to reroot my phone from the start. Since my computer does not recognize my phone is there a way i can root from my sd card?

well you are already rooted so no need to re-root. you can just try wiping dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps.

Do you know how to get to recovery? Power off your phone, then hold volume down+power til the white hboot screen comes up. Wait for it to finish scanning for a PC36IMG file(if it finds one, tell it not to update). Select recovery, select wipe and wipe davlik-cache and then wipe cache. reboot the phone and see if it helps.

ok i tried that but it didnt work. I click on recovery, it tries to reboot then a black screen comes up with a picture of a phone and a red triangle with a ! in the middle

ok so do you have s-off or s-on? what hboot do you have? to find those answers, power off your phone then press and hold power+vol down.this will get you to the hboot screen. what does the white screen say?

if you have s-off then you are ok looks like you have a broken recovery.

I had a similar situation in my early rooting days. You didn't mention if you flashed anything, but something during your process is causing instability. I fully agree with ocnbrze, although CWM sounds easy, you should learn amon and the process of manually flashing everything. I fixed my problem by putting my SD in my wife's EVO (that should get some comments...). My PC would then recognize it. I placed a freshly downloaded ROM (MYNs 2.2 at the time) on my SD card while still in her phone. I replaced the card to my phone, rebooted into recovery, and flashed the new ROM. I was good to go. The great Akazabam said that the same process could probably have been achieved with a card reader if another EVO wasn't available. Give it a shot and reply if you need additional help.

ok so looks like you are not rooted in that you have s-on and no custom recovery. so you need to run unrevoked again. please please read the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html guide. it has great amount of info to help you get you rooted. any questions please feel free to ask.

If you can't get your pc to recognize your phone then I don't think it is possible. You can try and run the RUU through hboot to see if it restores communication.

Interesting Hboot info though.....you have hboot 2.10 but have a very old radio version on it.

not sure what that means..haha im really new to rooting and obviously not very good at it

try and install htc sync and uninstall it. it should leave behind the htc drivers. try that and see if your pc will see your phone. also have usb debugging on.

Go to the Rooting for Dummies Guide and look in the After Rooting section for unroot. Download the PC36IMG file for hboot 2.10, rename it only PC36IMG and put it on the root of your sdcard. Reboot your phone to hboot and it should find the file. Tell it to update and let it run. Reboot the phone and see if you can get communication between your phone and pc.

here is the htc sync for the evo:http://member.america.htc.com/download/RomCode/Sync3/setup_3.0.5511.exe i just got it at the htc website. install it then uninstall it. it will leave behind the drivers.

I installed HTC sync and uninstalled and it still does not see the phone.
If its any help-my phone only charges some times, like right now its plugged in but the charging light is not on.

Got anymore ideas?

well ok i'm pulling at straws here. what method did you try to root your phone out of curiosity? did you download and install the hboot drivers? here is the wiki;public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki] if you did not do this initally then go ahead and try it. if you did do this try it again. like i said pulling at straws.
