Lock screen when on call and Save Power Button

Hey all, I've read through some other posts and checked out a couple of apps in the market place. I'm trying to find an app that will:

1. Lock my Captivate screen while I'm on a call so that I do not hit buttons with my face. (I put the phone between my head and shoulder a lot.)

2. Keep me from having to use the power button to lock/unlock my screen.

I feel like I use the power button all the time and I'm concerned I'm going to wear it out.

I've heard people talk about Widgetsoid that I think can do both. Also Widgetlocker, which I know can lock the screen too. Lock Screen I know will lock it when you don't want to use the power button, but does it lock the screen when you're on a call? Because I'm kind of thinking it doesn't.

Does anyone recommend any others that can do what I'm looking for?
Thanks in advance!

You can try don't hang up for the cheek button problem.

But the only app I know of that can do both is Widgetlocker turns the lockscreen on during a call so you don't hang up or press buttons. It also has an easy wake feature that lets you use any hardware button to wake the phone so it would be either the power or volume button to wake it. I find it easier to use the volume rocker to wake it with one hand. For locking the phone i just have my screen set to sleep at like 30 seconds to a minute then when it sleeps it locks.

Thanks 2many...so, there wouldn't be a way to lock it myself with Widgetlocker besides just pushing the power button to lock, or letting it go to sleep, right?

I'd probably have to set it to like 15 seconds to lock, because 30 is too long for me...but I could see that working. I do prefer to be able to lock it myself right after I use it because I throw it in my purse, etc...and it can touch other stuff even in the little cell phone pocket I have.

I love this phone, but it's taking some getting used to. :)

Yeah unless you change the sleep setting to something shorter the only way to lock the phone would be the power button

Or trying a lock app that has a widget you tap to lock the screen then you could throw it in your purse and the screen would be locked and eventually go to sleep.

I may have to try that. It just seems like a lot of apps to have open/running just to be able to lock my screen and preserve the power button life. Sounds like it's worth a try though. Thanks again!
