Root Weird Battery Behaviour

Hi All,

I've received a replacement phone after my previous one having taken a dip in the loo (don't laugh!). I've rooted it, and all went fine, and I have restored my phone to a backed up ROM. However, even before I rooted it, I was having a strange problem with the new battery. It is showing as fully charged, yet ever so often the phone will just die on me and will not restart with that battery even while connnected to a mains charger! I've tried a different battery without problems.

Any ideas?!

I was just thinking of one of the many apps or widgets which can display or monitor the voltage. CurrentWidget can write these things to a log, for example. Obviously that won't help when it won't restart, but should show if there is an abnormal relation between battery percentage and voltage (e.g. 100% being less than 4150 mV). I'm taking it that you can get it running again with the new battery at some point, since you say "every so often" it dies.

But if it misbehaves crazily with the new battery, and works with the older one, it does sound like the new battery is a dud.
