Yes, the pi$$ poor firmware effort by Moto needs to be purged ASAP so the device can perform as it should have in the first place :)

Sadly, about 90% of the folks that buy the DX2 will not root, so will not see any result.

I disagree with you, assuming you mean the Bionic. Millions of people won't have LTE for quite some time, and even those that do will be fighting with crappy battery life and other issues as the network sorts itself out over time. I say no thanks - the X2 has everything I need and more. CM7 just came to DroidX eons after its original release, I'm betting the port to X2 will be a no-brainer for them.
