We need to all remember that a Wi-Fi network is only as fast as the ISP. You could have dial-up or basic DSL and have a Wi-Fi network that is slower than the 3G network, which averages 1 Mbps down in my area.
If you're on Cablevision, you also probably have Boost, too. The speeds I posted for my wired home computer (30/5) is pretty much the fastest you can get without upgrading to Ultra.
