Speakerphone quality - need opinions

I'm enjoying my Droid Charge except for one thing: I believe the speakerphone quality is much worse than other phones that I've had. I don't really expect wonderful sound from that small speaker, but when using the speakerphone with the volume past 50%, the audio crackles and vibrates on several different sources. I've removed the battery cover and that doesn't help. A local time-temp # I've used for testing is really bad; however, I've found the ring tones sound fine.

How would you rate the quality of your external speaker? Does anyone else feel the external speaker sounds worse than most phones?

Thanks for any input on this.

It is not as good as my old Touch Pro2 (best cell phone speaker I've heard to date), but much better than the Thunderbolt. If you think the speaker on the Charge is bad, be glad you didn't get the Thunderbolt. It is not only a poor quality speaker, but it is also located underneath the solid metal kickstand which is just ludicrous.

All in all, the speaker/speakerphone quality on the Charge seems fine to me. But then, I also don't use it all that much.
