Looking for some help, guidance and advice.

Going on holiday next week and my phone is also my main camera (sad I know but thats how I roll :D)

This week I have had an issue with my memory card corrupting and I lost my photos from a family wedding at the weekend from the card, just as well i uploaded to bookface first or there would have been hell to pay from the missus. So I have bought a new card

What I would like if it can be done, is set an app to scan the folder my photos are in and auto-upload them somewhere that will act as my back-up should anything else go wrong at any point.

Obviously, as I am going abroad then the data roaming will be getting switched off, so this would be only when Im in a wifi area.

I realise I can do this by clicking in to dropbox to do it manually and it looks like I would have to do it photo by photo instead of as a batch, but wondering if there is anything out there that will do it auto when I start-up the app ?

Anyone help point me in the right direction ?

ummm...maybe tasker can do it if you know how to setup a script to monitor your photo folder, and have it transfer/move the files to dropbox and automate the upload. I not 100% that can be done with tasker, as I haven't really use tasker, but either ways your case sure sounded like it needs a custom script of some kind.
Too bad dropbox on Android doesn't have the auto syncing folder option like its PC software, otherwise it would be simple, just change your photo folder to dropbox's public folder and have auto sync turn on.

I use sugarsync for this. I use sugarsync for photos and dropbox for everthing else. You get 5gb free with sugarsync and you can set to automatically upload your pictures as soon as you take them. Just took a quick look at the settings and it looks like you can set it to upload on wifi only.

I use the free app, Sorami with a 25GB Skydrive account (free from Windows Live). It won't automatically synchronize the photos & videos to the cloud, but from the Android Gallery, you can long-press a folder and upload the entire contents of the folder to your SkiDrive's "My Documents" folder. Then when you get home you can download the SkyDrive folder to your PC. Based on the previous post, Sugarsync sounds easier, but Sorami/Skydrive gives you 25GB for free.

Bon voyage!
