after hearing the d3 is locked, im almost betting the bionic will be as well, so im not stained by moto, and doubt i will go back to them anytime soon. bo and i will see you guys in the sgs2 forum once the phone gets here

well the day has come, i have to get something new today or go without a cellphone in a wait. phone got shut off (strategic) so i have to go by verizon today to activate a new contract. i wonder if they will let me activate my old phone and still get the new activation price on a phone down the road? if so we might just play the waiting game. will keep everyone posted, might have a near mint droid x running liberty for sale soon

It sucks that the Motorola phones will still be locked, maybe they will release something so we can unlock them by agreeing to void our warranty. This means no new phone for me for awhile, I wouldn't think twice about getting a Galaxy S2, its made bySamsung and all their phones are sh!t. I will only buy Motorola (if its unlocked) or HTC(if the build quality isn't as sh!ty as the t bolt), Motorola has the best hardware and HTC has the best software, LG and Samsung are crap.

well i can agree with you that moto has the best build quality
htc as software, i dunno im not a fan of sense, or moto blur, or touchwiz, or whatever LG is, im a fan of stock android

i dont hear much about LG, my 50" tv and surround sound is LG, and i like LG products, but not much is going on over on the LG side of the forums so im hesitant, *i can get a new phone right now if i want, and then again in march or april* but im waiting on the new sgs2 only because the screen, camera, hdmi, open android, and battery life is on bar with moto

htc is the worst battery life among all these phones (even though im not sure about LG)

moto imo has the best, my X lasts all day with streaming music and i go to bed with 20-30% battery life left after about 16 hours (not streaming all day though just occasionally)

if LG had a better rep i would test out the revolution, but its not dual core, and no development out for it yet really. the screen looks gorgeous, but it just doesnt reach out to me for $250

so im going to go with Sammy or HTC, and maybe LG if something good comes our way.

if i have to get something today or lose out on a new activation price i think i might have to get the thunderbolt. if i can wait and still get that price on another phone on down the road then i will wait. i would like to get the galaxy s2 now but i am NOT paying the 650 it would take to get one. must be crazy

I agree, all manufacture UIs suck but HTC is by far thebest with no lag unlike Motorola and Samsung's UIs.

My thunderbolt gets almost as good of battery life as my X did on ApeX and Liberty.

The main reason I say I'd never own another LG or Samsung is because both have horrible reception (motorola is best, HTC is good) and other problems such as gps issues. I have issues with my thunderbolt but at least I can get reception and make calls when I need to.

i have had all types of phones, including kyocera

moto was always my choice, then lg, then samsung, then htc

i had one of those htc windows phones that really blew it hard lol
the only good thing about it was brickbreaker

It's looking like Moto will be using the "if carriers allow it" excuse as a cop out. It's probably best to just move on from Moto at this point.

Moto's hardware is top notch though. I will take that over the whole drama about the bootloader being locked. Its just plain silly.

what type of issues are you having with the t-bolt?

Horrible gps, reboots, bad call quality compared to Motorola, the proximity sensor cause me to accidentally hang up on people all the time, browsing is a pain because its hard to select anything while browsing (and browsing is what I do most on here.

Sounds like my experience with the Droid Incredible. Thus why I have a Droid X now. Try using the app Call Confirm on the market.

Droid bionic for me, just waiting on it to release, luckily my company will upgrade me, bigtex19, a coworker reactivated his old Omnia II and slapped data on it so he could get grandfathered in until the bionic releases so you might be able to do the same.

its a new day with a new phone. i ended up getting the evo 3d. not a bad phone i like the newer htc sense stuff on here and it is fast. call quality is definitely a down grade and so is the data speeds but im chalking that up to sprint and not the phone. i miss my droid x already
