Android Update for Motorola Atrix 4G to Be Released Soon

Recent reports have indicated that a Gingerbread Android update is slated to be released for a number of Android devices including the MotorolaAtrix 4G. Although the leak remained unconfirmed, there is a possibility that the Android 2.3 update for the Motorola Atrix 4G will be released by the later part of summer.
Other devices which are supposed to receive a Gingerbread Android update include the HTC DesireZ, HTC Incredible S, and the Samsung Galaxy S.
The HTC Desire Z will reportedly receive the update at nearly the same time as the Motorola Atrix 4G during the later part of summer while the HTC Incredible S will reportedly receive its update in the middle of summer. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S will be updated ahead of the other devices including the Motorola Atrix 4G in the early part of summer.

I know that most people had a speculation that they the update was to come out sometime in July, but if July is mid summer.....and if this article states we are to get it towards the later part of summer after the increidible S and galaxy....it is looking like August or September.....then again, it is all speculation right?

This reminds me of all the people begging for the next OS on BlackBerry's. I'll say here what I used to say over on CrackBerry.... The OS will get here when it's ready, not a moment sooner, and nothing we can do but sit back and wait.

I just wonder how many "When are we getting Gingerbread??" posts we are going to see over the next few weeks??

Maybe the mods should sticky this post (or make a new one sticky) to be the official GingerBread thread, and just lock/delete any other GingerBread threads until we get a solid build. Just an idea.

Or you can install the final GB leak which runs amazing and not have to worry about delays.

I read through the thread over at XDA and it seems like there are as many saying they can't get it to work as there are that are having no problems. It looked to me about 60% of the people had a positive experience.

Given my tendency to to adhere to the strict letter of the law (Well, Murphy's law), I would be in that 1% that said the leak set their phone on fire, summoned demons, and transported them to Narnia... NAKED!

There are a few too many bold and red alert warning it may not work properly !!!1things going on at XDA with this leaked GB update. I know that's par for the course when rooting / installing leaked ROMs...guess I've just lost interest in hacking away on my phones. I'll wait for the official release rather than monkey around with a leaked version...

Haven't had any issues whatsoever with mines since installing the leaked 2.3.4. I wonder why it would be any different for others.

We have to accept the fact that a majority of the Atrix owners (maybe even a BIG majority) either have no interest in modding their phones, or are somewhat interested, but reluctant to take the step. Those of us who have chosen to go down the road of rooting our phones are simply of a different persuasion than those who have chosen to remain stock.

For myself, the Atrix is the fifth Android phone that I've modded, and it just keeps getting better and better with each phone. The Atrix is the best of the bunch from a performance standpoint, and I get a lot of pleasure out of tinkering with it - but that's me, and as I said, the majority of the Atrix owners (perhaps a majority of the forum membership) doesn't share my particular brand of entertainment. And that's OK, because we're all one big and happy family here on Android Forums. :)

I have a feeling we'll be seeing it by the end of the month.

the Non-disclosure agreement I agreed to when I signed up for the SOAK program a few months ago prevented me from saying I got the email invite to join the program (Despite being asked to be excluded from any future testing).

However, the cat is out of the bag... [FONT=&quot]

The last 2 were less than 2 weeks from the time we got the build to when the update went out to everyone.
Given issues I have with how Motorola conducts these tests that I can't fully disclose, I refuse to participate in any more of their tests. That does not stop them from pestering me with invites, despite me asking to be REMOVED from their list.
