Hi, one of my home screens, using ADW 5x5, about four to five more to go.

Looks like everything is lining up perfectly now. Make sure to post the rest of it when you're done!

btw, anyone know what this widget do? or is there any android widget that look the same? or maybe some modified apk version?

That's four separate widgets from Windows Phone 7 or Launcher7. The three notification ones you can make using either Missed It! or Chronotopia to do the live number counts. Then just overlap them onto Desktop Visualizer widgets with a similar solid-color block and icon background.

The living contacts widget cannot be duplicated in any launcher other than Launcher7, as far as I know. It's really cool because it actively changes images from your contacts list. I wish there was a standalone widget that would do that. Anyone else have any ideas?

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need any help.

I hear ya. Working on idea for live updating tiles with tasker and mini text, but I'm not quite able to figure out all the profiles while my brain should be on work.

been busy for past few days, heres my current homescreen, featuring random contact that mimic wp7 contacts tile. this made by myself.
the widget still in develop, so many bugs, FC, etc.
currently only displaying 9 random contacts, no animation, background color can be customized, and working too with overlapping widget in case there is a gap or the widget is not lining correctly.
any suggestion for this widget? and sorry, i'm not attaching it, since it's currently on debug build. i'll updating it when i have time to spare.

--sorry for my bad english.

How do I get to split a picture up like that or similar?

Hi, here some quick tutorial (photoshop)

  • create a test screen, see this for instructions
  • take a screenshot, see this for instructions
  • open the screenshot in photoshop, add guides based on the red and yellow widgets, as seen below. hints: use shift while dragging guide from ruler for better snap. zooming the image will make good precise too. make sure you setup the ruler to pixel, right click the ruler, and choose pixel.
tut1e.png

  • add an image that you want to split, resize it as you need.
  • add slices (shift+C) based on the guides that we create before.
tut2zq.png

  • for example:

tut3v.png

  • after completing all silces, you can rename it to represent it size. use the slice select tool, double click the slice you want to rename, enter the desired name and press ok.

tut4i.png

  • export the image, from menu File - Save for wen & devices (ctrl+alt+shift+s)

tut5m.png

  • press save, give a file name and press save once more, the result image will placed under 'images' folder

tut6w.png

  • there your split image, upload it to your phone, and create DV layout based on their size
  • for adding a label to the images, you can see this instructions

hope this help.
