Rebooting Solved, New update looks solid

I updated about an hour ago. We'll see how it goes. My phone reboots like clockwork once it gets to a certain battery level, so we'll see what happens with that tomorrow.

I did notice that my GPS locks much faster now. If this isn't an isolated event and the GPS is fix, I'll be completely happy with the phone now.

I would suggest anyone having issues with the latest update consider installing the recent RUU. That is what I have always done when updates come out and I never have issues. Installing an update over a troubled OS is asking for trouble. Verizon should know this and recommend a full fresh install.

Please note that I had a few reboots, 12 days of no 4g, apps not updating, 10 minute+ GPS lock. Latest update is golden for me.

My update was not so solid. Had 2 random reboots the first day with the new update. And the biggest issue is my battery life is half of what it was before the update. I went back through all the apps to turn off as many things as possible (Blockbuster, etc.) and it did not help. Finally gave in last night and factory reset the phone for the 1st time. Today the battery life does not look to be any better. Went from getting an easy 10 hours to less then 5.

Very frustrated! This is a launch day phone that only had the camcorder sound issue before the 1st update. From that point on its been nothing but issues. Not sure I will put up with this crap much longer.

I have had seven different Android devices and updated OTAs without a fresh install more than 20 times across them and not once did I have any kind of issue that was related to not doing a fresh install.

I'm sure your comment was very helpful to the people still having issues with the phone.

Consider starting a thread where you the 3 other people in the world who have owned 7 other devices and updated 20 other times without issue can stroke each other and talk about how awesome you are. The rest of us will stay hang out here in reality and try to provide our fellow Androiders with working solutions.

Reading comprehension is not your forte. Allow me to clarify for you. I was saving people time by telling them that doing a fresh reset of the OS wouldn't solve their problems.

I've noticed my battery life is worse since the update also. I too have a launch date phone. I had a full charge when I got to work last night, sent and received two sms messages, browsed the internet for 5 minutes and when I got home, my battery was at 60%. What the hell. And yes, I installed the RUU and not the OTA since I installed the leaked MR2. So it was a fresh install.

Correct. A "fresh reset" may not correct anything. I was suggesting they install using the RUU. A full install of any OS is better than installing an update on any device.

What's a "fresh reset"? Since reading comp isn't my thing please explain. I was assuming you mean factory reset but clearly I'm mentally challenged and need your help understanding.

Dont know why so many people have this problem with reboots. I'm on my second TB so far and neither on of them had any reboot problems. A couple of my friends & business associates have them and another consultant and none of them have had this issue either (I asked). Could it be some common app people have or the fact they are rooted that casues this?

Haven't had any re-booting issues either but I do have to manually restart the phone often, sometimes the 4g radio doesn't turn on. Only a reboot re-activates LTE. Not to bad of an issue except that it takes this phone 5 min to start back up. I'm almost afraid to do the update.. is wi-fi hotspot still working for free after the update?

Well, my battery was a little better today after the factory reset. And no reboots today. But now I just noticed that the update I downloaded is not on my phone. My build number is still the old one. I know it downloaded the first time because I timed it, but I guess it never fully installed. Maybe that's why I was having problems with my battery.

Anyways, just did the "check for update" again and it found it on the 1st attempt. So now its downloading for a 2nd time. Hope it works!
