Yup,

You read it correctly. I finally built CWR for our little phones and it works perfectly. You can see this article here: News: Ascend officially has a working Clockwork Mod Recovery! | myascend.org

In those pics, I show off some CWR on my Metro Ascend. In the link I provided, dEris also put up a link to the xda-dev thread if you're interested in following the developments. Koush (CWR main dev) will be pushing a working version to his ROM manager app. So, if you don't have RM, make sure you download it from the Market.

Also, in related news, I've been talking to a ROM dev (jdkoreclipse) who is building a custom rom (froyo 2.2) for our phones. He might have a rough build for me to test this weekend. Now, that we have CWR, we can now safely backup our phones and flash whatever custom roms we want!

I have CWR on my Ascend now, from ROM Mgr. and I have been going CRAZY trying to figure out one simple thing.
JUST IN CASE: I need/would like to know how to return the phone to the original recovery and remove CWR, and have it back to total stock. I cannot find this answer anywhere. I LOVE CWR and am going to keep using it, but in case of taking it in or just, "Start from scratch" situations, I want to know how this is done.

Do you have to "Flash" an original factory recovery rom or something? No clue. Anything done to return it to "Stock" returns everything BUT keeps CWR on there.

Please help with seemingly crazy issue. It's mainly educational, but there are times where I may need to start fresh....I would really appreciate any help on this.

Thank you so so much.
Best regards,
Jeff

What should i set my set cpu thing too i have the ascend on metro AND I DO WANT IT TO GO FAST

Sadly it comes overclocked stock at 600 MHz and doing it anymore could fry your phone. Still i upgraded it, rooted it, got rid of the bloatware, and used move to sd enabler to put EVERYTHING on my sd card and now its running faster than i ever thought id see it run :D
