OK I know this might be the wrong section but I've been thinking about upgrade from my DX to the thunderbolt I've looked at the dinc2 and a few other phone but I'm kinda partial to the thunderbolt since its pretty much a clone of the evo4G I've grown bored with my DX and there's hardly any new roms to try and no new tweaks to play with and almost all the deb's have moved on to other devices and with the DX's locked bootloader there's really nothing left for the DX I've been comparing the DX and the TB for a while and the pros and cons seem to be about the same with the battery life being the only real difference that sticks out (battery life on stock rom) any help would be great and appreciated

I'm a little confused on what you need help on. Need opinions about battery life? Sounds like you already know it can be pretty bad. How customizable it can be with roms and such? Sounds like you already know that

Well....if it helps sway ya, my bolt runs porn like a champ. That kickstand comes in handy whenever you're giving yourself a....handy

Wow didn't think about the porn. Sounds like that alone should make up my mind lol. I was looking through the TB rom list and there's like 3 times as many for the TB versus the DX. Unless anyine can give me some reasons not to switch I'm like 90% on switching. The info on porn helped lol j/k porns pretty fast on DX running cm7 lol.

Pretty much every 4G phone on the market has battery life issues...nature of the beast for the time being. If you are in a 4G area, it can certainly be worth it if you are a heavy data user. Because of the long lock-in period, you may want to get a 4G phone if 4G is imminent in your area. If you live in the sticks, save your cash and headaches and get at good 3G phone and enjoy the battery life. Not sure where gulfport falls in that scheme.

I'll help you with this right now. Listen right now to what I'm about to say and you will not only have 2 years worth of self giving handies /happy endings, you won't regret your decision one bit. Ya ready?

BUY THE PHONE AND ACCEPT IT FOR WHAT IT IS. Not for what you wish it was or hope it'll be with updates. Too often will you see people ignore the wealth of information on the internet about a phone having crap battery life or whatever then get the phone and go on a tirade on the forums about how shocked they were about the battery being crap. You look at these people with selective ignorance and wonder how they've even turned on their phone without complaining "this phone is crap. I can't turn it on. There's no button that says power. Oh there is a power button? Stupid HTC trying to cater to the tech geeks that know where this stuff is. I'm getting an iPhone".

All the main issues people had with this phone have been resolved with updates. And for whatever reason, there's always a crap load of support for HTC phones. My old Droid Eris is still supported even up to gingerbread even after the official updates stopped at 2.1.

Get it. Then come back and thank me for telling you to. You have a solid community here that'll help you every step of the way.
