Android needs to work with the developers and the carriers. It needs to give its partners time to keep up.

I don't see a reason to update an OS every 3-6 months.

I think it's better to just have one update a year. It makes a lot more sense.

This is a "Fake" Current running version is 2.1

I think yearly is a little too long. The beauty of Android from what I've noticed is easy integration of existing software for Dev's when new versions are released.

Well said andriodfan87 - I'm on a 24 month contract on my phone running 1.6 and Sense UI and whilst it's always nice to have the latest software release do I want to be updating it 5 or 6 times over the next 2 years - No!

If there's a massive change in functionality - say in 3.0 or 4.0 than maybe but other than that I'm not bothering (nothing in 2.0 or 2.1 that excites me).
