Morning all!
So for those of you who have rooted your phones - I'm seriously contemplating it. There is too much saying it's not that difficult and that the performance is much better once you do. My question is this......what do I have to do prior to rooting? I know there are probably threads about it but I'll be honest - I don't feel like wading through hundreds of posts to find the essential information that I know some of you can give me. Thanks.

make sure you have all your contacts backed up on something like google... and have a fully charged battery and ... have all the drivers downloaded and i think thats it

Contacts I back up on the sync every day but I'll double check them. Drivers will be downloaded. As for the fully charged battery ....that doesn't last long at all. Lol.

yeah i have one as well when you plug it in to the computer a menu will pop up and you click on 3g internet pass through i am rooted and romed so i dont know extley what it is called but it will load the needed drivers on your computer and then you should be good to go

yeah once you have the drivers and everything backed up which is not really needed because when you root you will not lose anything on your phone until you wanna take the next step after rooting which flashing a Rom.
what you are actuality doing is pushing an app called Superuser which gives you the ability to give certain apps to run on a higher level of required permission... you will also be turning S-off or the built in security that is put on the incredible and when that is turned off you put the phone into a debugging developers mode and once there you can flash custom roms and things like that
all that is done with one click with the root program which you will download from

Well if I'm dipping my toe in these waters I will most likely end up all in and flashing a rom too - I don't like doin things half assed
