im installed and all working for me, HD recording is not fixed yet, but loving the speed... no more crappy bloat-ware

[ROM][GRJ22] CyanogenMod 7 for Samsung Galaxy S II - xda-developers

well happy :D
Beware!

Actually, contrary to the OP's title for this thread, this isn't an official Cyanogen Mod Nightly but a kang (pre release) of it.

At this time the official CM7 Nighty's have not been released.

The kang is a "pre-nightly" release and not intended for everyday use as such and not supported by Cyanogen.

Known issues at the moment are...

Bluetooth
Video playback - many formats are not recognized
Video recording - especially HD
Vibration and haptic feedback can be better
Auto brightness
TVout
FMRadio
Compass issues
plus numerous other bugs reported.

More information at xda developers, here:-

[ROM][GRJ22] CyanogenMod 7 for Samsung Galaxy S II - xda-developers

IMHO, if you want to upgrade to 2.3.4 then go to SilverDroid's excellent posting here for the, leaked, stock firmware and step-by-step guide:-

http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2/372325-galaxy-s2-2-3-4-whos-got.html#post2931038

Have been using this for over a week with no problems and will wait awhile until Cyanogen release their version and a few of the bugs are ironed out. :D

sorry to be a noob but whats the advantage of this rom over the stock one?
At the moment... not a lot!

In future it will have all the CM modifications and tweaks that improve such things as battery life, signal, WiFi, etc:

Basically it's the custom ROM on steroids.

At the moment though, and certainly in the kang version, there are more problems than solutions.

My advice would be to wait until Cyanogen have a Release Candidate for the Galaxy SII.

First of all, please cut out the personal jibes and to-and-fro arguing. It does nothing for the topic and turns off other readers.

"it is a nightly, like all nightlies"

You missed off the sentence that preceeded this ;)

Codeworkx put up a temporary KANG build until build bot comes alive
Until the GS2 builds are released as official nightlies, either in the CM Mirror Network or ROM Manager Premium, it's unfair to label them as such. Right now the build is less than fully-functional, and releasing nightlies in such a state goes against CM practice. As +Atin M said in a post a few days ago:

So, we're testing hardware encode/decode using +Andrew Mahone 's work from last night, and I am trying to get Bluetooth working correctly and SGS2 could go into nightlies.
Retitling wasn't a pop at you personally, it's merely alerting users to the fact that this isn't the finished article.

No one is "mocking" anyone.

This thread was discussing the kang build. The other is for the official CM releases.

ffs it was not a kang build... it was a nightly stored in a temp location, i off all people should know.. i just think it takes the mick, that he moaned and complained then started his own thread.... do you not see that?
