The Photon 4G Pre-Order Info Thread

Why do you guys need a preorder? It's not like this is the hot anticipated phone of the summer? I don't think there will be supply issues.

I plan on going in Sunday and picking one up. But at Target Mobile

You stated the exact reason I like pre orders, regardless of a device's hype. You're right, it's not one of the highly anticipated phones, which could mean limited stock. Pre order would guarantee a phone on day of launch.

Same here. It really disapoints me there is no preorder :( bit i will just head up there early that morning.

I have a lady up at the store that claims they will call me if prorder info becomes available. Will update if I hear anything.

I can also confirm that those that WOULD have had a premier upgrade but lost itwith the gold/silver change are eligible until 7/31.

I wasn't even offered to be contacted.

I'm going to a private shopping event tomorrow night. I'm thinking that they haven't prepared a pre order due to the xoom and titanium release tomorrow. They had a freaking preorder for the triumph, but not photon. That seems odd to me.

Looks like people who got screwed sure to premier upgrade change, should call in to sprint to have their date adjusted.

No I havent and most instore employees have been less than helpful especially when I get into how displeased I am with my EVO since the GB update. You have a good number to contact besides standard CS?


I had luck on the past with my HTC Original Touch Pro issues by calling Sprint's "The voice of the Customer" at 866-954-0492. I just dialed it and is seems to still be an active and direct line within Sprint customer care. I hope this helps and good luck :)

Do you have a corporate discount or pay normal fees.

Normal sadly. But even then, Im willing to shell out enough to get rid of the EVO at this point. I have 2 lines and both are 79.99 a month so I think that should at least get me something. Ive been in sprint stores a couple times trying to get this stuff sorted out but the HTC loading screen still takes a minute or two and the reboots are bothering me.

Just call the regular number and tell them the situation and many of ur friends had been given the exception.

Found the post Sprint's Premier Community forum. Search Jose Nunez on Sprint's site and it will take you to the post. You can PM him and he'll apparently change the account for you. Still waiting on mine to update and I haven't received a response yet. I tried calling Sprint and got shot down by 3 different reps. May try calling back now that I have the quote from a SP Forum Team member stating they have extended the renewed annual upgrade for those that would have been eligible before July 31rst. I was told last night that promo ended June30th and I'd have to pay a $75 "pay off" to get full upgrade on my account. I let them know I had friends that were still allowed their early upgrade as well as all the members of this forum that posted similar results. They acted like they didn't care and told me they'll look into it and call me back Monday.

the promo was extended from june 30 to july 31st.

when i called they claim it is on my account but when i go online it only shows the $75 credit.

also...best buy didnt offer to call me..i asked them to...specifically a girl who has helped us quite a bit.

who knows lol.

thanks. I'll probably ask tonight. Just hope today is different and pre order finally available.

I sent a PM to Jose about a month ago. It took him a full week to get back to me, because he is so inundated with requests. But he did come through. Just give him some time. :)

I am still abit confused on this $75.00 credit thing. According to Sprint I am Gold Premier so I assume I have the 75 credit. But is this credit on every line I have or just one of my lines.

I think I need to investigate this a bit more.

btw I am this >< close to ordering on Wirefly for $149 today, being that I do not see anything else as good being offered at the moment. Tonight I may just pull the trigger.

TS, if you're gold premier, I don't think it applies to you. I think the people talking about that $75 credit are referring to the 1 year vs. 2 year upgrade amount (old upgrade plan that Sprint used to have).

Private shopping event I'm going to at Best Buy is tonight at 730pm PST, so I'll let you all know if there's anything there when I get back.

I'm stalling time until the event starts. Good news is the photon is in the mobile guide that was released today and good until August 5, I think. Bad news is it says "coming soon" not July 31. I'm just hoping the mobile guide was prepared prior to the release date being announced because "coming soon" could mean they're not getting it on the release date.

I'll post pic I took when I'm back from shopping event.
