Help Clock widget won't show options

Weird... until yesterday, I could tap the clock widget and see the options for the timer, alarm, world clock, etc. Now... nada. The weather side works but the time side ignores taps. The time is correct, the current location is correct, etc., but the widget ignores taps on the clock. I did a reset (not factory reset), no change. I removed the widget and re-installed it, no change. I put up the world clock(s), they show the expected stuff but ignore taps, too.

Ideas?

Try doing a data wipe of just the app, if that doesn't work do a uninstall/reinstall.

With a clock on the home page, I went intoSettings -> Applications -> Manage applications (All) and Clock and Clock Widget both have the Clear data button dimmed. Clock's Force stop button is dimmed, while Clock widget's Force stop button works.

I removed the clock. No change in the buttons. I did Force stop on the Clock Widget. No improvement.

BTW, if I do a long tap on the widget and slide it to Edit, I can tinker with the city settings - the same stuff seen when adding the widget to the screen. But the timer, etc. are still lost to access.

Now what? There's no clear way to uninstall either item, only move them to SD.

Well, strictly speaking, a Factory Reset is, at best, symptomatic relief. I think the real problem is something in the OS can't keep track of where the clock app (not the widget code - that works just fine - but the code that handles the alarm, timer, etc.) went. Since only the clock app is involved, I'll bet it's malformed in some way the OS doesn't handle well. IIRC, the clock was imported from another platform, so I wonder if that's the cause.

Bottom line: if you need an alarm, get a free app for now, and wait for a fix for the whole mess. I wouldn't do a Factory Reset.
