Hey everyone. I'm kind of new (very new actually). Please excuse this being my first post... I've never had an android phone before, and bought the Nexus S 4g yesterday, (because I knew this update would be coming out). Now I'm having issues installing and thought I'd ask here, since y'all obviously are having better success than I. I try to follow the instructions (found various places around the web), but when I boot into restore (the step where the orange triangle is shown, if I'm not describing it correctly) there is an orange triangle with an exclamation point, and a green android guy, but there are no options, and nothing to select. I then have to pull the battery and restart the phone.
I can only imagine that I'm saving the "update.zip" in the wrong place. I've tried this a couple of times... the first thing I tried was to plug the phone into my PC by USB. The computer then assigns the phone to drive "F:" so I tried copying the update.zip directly to the root of the drive so it would be "F:\update.zip." but that didn't work.
Then I looked in the manual from google, and it says that depending on the phone, it will save the file either in the sd card, or the phone's USB storage. So I tried saving the file where the phone had been saving downloads "F:\download\update.zip." That didn't work either, had to restart the phone.
Anyway, looking at my "F:" drive (the phone) in windows explorer, there are six folders: .android secure, Android, DCIM, download, LOST.DIR and media. Which one is the "SD root? Can anyone point me to some more detailed instructions?
