My incredible has done this twice now...

I am kind of an asshole. I am currently sleeping with 4 different girls. I'm 22. I am always EXTREMELY careful about texting the right girl the right message at the right time. I was texting girl one, and somehow, girl two got the text. Girl two texts me back. "You just texted the wrong girl."

Girl one's thread (intended recipient) shows the message I sent.
Girl two's thread doesn't have that text in the thread.

WHAT THE HELL?

I use handcent. Im going to see if the ole "My friend was using my phone" trick will work.

BAH!!!!!!!

Well, I don't think the OP wants pity so much as a remedy for the text message/recipient issues.

I'd first go into the app, Handcent, and clear out all but one or two texts in each thread. Then I'd go into application manager and clear cache on that and any other sms app in there (the default one, for example).

Then I'd reboot the device and see if the issue replicates, in which case I'd contact Handcent support and/or the developer to see if others have reported the same thing.

I have actually heard reports of Handcent doing that. Can't remember where I heard or read it but it seems Handcent sends it then the native app also sends it to the latest recipient it knew about. Good to check if both got it.

I believe google also confirmed that it is a bug with android in general, phandroid ran a story on it a while back.
