Root what issues are left with CM7.1.0 RC1.3??

I personally love liquid thunderbread, but no Wi-Fi tether is a killer for me. However that is the ONLY problem I have run into on 2.3. I am sure I could find the bugs in CM with a little research at xda, but the CM7 thread is like 800 pages long over there. I certainly don't want to move from liquid and run into even more issues with CM7. My main concerns are GPS, flash, and of course Wi-Fi tether. Thanks in advance!

I have GPS working (flash a sense based rom, get a gps lock, then flash back to CM7) and I'm running Flash Player 10.3 with no issues. Can't help you with Wi/Fi tether as I haven't tried it yet. Reading through the xda thread it seems some people get it to work no problem and some people aren't able to get it to work at all. Go figure.

edit: It seems the GPS trick will will hold until you flash a new radio. If you flash a new radio you will need to repeat the process.

Thanks, I had to do the GPS trick on thunderbread so hopefully it will stick. Anybody else wanna chime in on Wi-Fi tether? If that doesn't work, there is no reason for me to switch.

GPS is busted for me on CM as well. Thunderbread got a lock in under 20 seconds, CM has been searching for over 10 minutes now. And yes, I did try the sense rom flash trick. Glad I made a backup before switching because this is exactly what I was afraid of. Thanks for your help anyway guys.

Still waiting for a FULLY functional aosp thunderbolt rom. 4g be damned, I am starting to consider breaking out the OG droid for awhile.

Edited to add: just tried to connect with my netbook as well and had the same hangup on obtaining IP address. I thought it may have been an issue with my nook or gtab, but it is clearly something in these roms. All three of those devices would connect with no problem when I was running BAMF stripped.

I have spent all day trying to get wifi tether working for me. I finally got barnacle to work after realizing that my windows xp laptop was set only to connect to infrastructure networks as opposed to both infrastructure and ad-hoc. Once I got that cleared up it worked fine.

I still can't get wireless tether to work. Where do you get CM tether? Didn't know they made their own. Maybe that would be easier.

did you try doing a full wipe and then try the sense to asop gps trick? I am on cm7 and get a lock in 5-10 secs, and I didn't even have to do the sense trick

Yeah, I tried that. Had to do it on thunderbread to get GPS working, and it gave me a lock within 20 seconds as I said earlier. CM searched for 15+ minutes and never did lock, even after the "fix".

Only annoying issue I still have is GPS. It does not lock as fast as I'd like and for some reason many apps that use it think I am on the other side of the planet lol. Went to check on on Google+ and it gave me options in Switzerland and my beautiful widgets weather widget thinks I am there as well.

I think that using GPS Status works just as well as the sense trick, and it is easier and gives you an analysis tool if you run into issues. You turn it on, walk outside, watch the satellite count go up, download AGPS data and done. Plus, it looks cool

I tried that too, but it still didn't help on CM. At least for me.

Yeah I have done that and from time to time I have gotten GPS to work properly but last two times I did the trick it did not work.

There has to be some bug in the code somewhere because it is as if it is inverting E vs W on the longitudes.
