Help Ringtone to output via 1/8" jack

When you have headphones plugged in, the ringtone still outputs via the built-in speaker.

That seems wrong - if you have your headphones plugged in, you obviously are trying to keep sound private to yourself, but if you receive a call, audio in the headphones is cut off, and then the ringtone comes out the speakers... why? This is my 3rd Android phone, but it's the only one that did this. The other two sent the ringtone out the headphone jack whenever it was in use.

Does anyone on here know of a way to fix this ringtone output issue - whether it be with an app, a current internal option, or perhaps by rooting the phone?
I simply want to force the phone to use the 1/8" headphone jack for ringtones when the headphone jack is in use. Anyone?

Thank you very much in advance

You aren't going to be able to do this naitively, but might be able to through a workaround.

First, obviously, you'll need to set ring as SILENT.

Second, you could get one of those "Tasker" apps and set up a condition such as: IF ring THEN "play named mp3" Your mp3 in this example is a recording of your ringtone.

I don't know if those programs support a generic RING condition, but I do know that they support IF/THEN based on matching certain telephone numbers. In your situation, if that is all they offer, then you would just use a wildecard (e.g. IF match number [wildcard] then play named MP#.

So, I found an app specifically called "tasker", but it costs about $7. I think I'll buy it if you're pretty sure it'll do this. Does anyone know if there is a free (or at least free demo or lite version) alternative before I go and pay for an app I might not otherwise use?

Also, I assume it is not faux pas to mention this here, but I was thinking of flashing to the Syndicate ROM. Would this perhaps fix the problem?
