Root [ROM]{AOSP} Custom Gingerbread OMFGB 1.3.1 Nightlies[Updated 8/1/2011]

Yup, I'm tired of applying Roms that reduce the functionality of my phone......I don't see the point in that anymore. Some of these Roms may look nice and have a lot of features/settings, but if they don't work properly (the way I want them to), then what's the point
Well they only fully functioning ROMs at this point in time are going to be Blur based ROMs since everything else out is CM7 based which is still beta. So why some ppl would think or even call their variants of any thing other than beta too beats me.

MMS Issues:
source:
{AOSP}{Custom Gingerbread}OMFGB 1.3.1 Nightlies - Page 28
fix:
To those with the MMS issue try this. Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases and delete the telephony.db file and then reboot. Let me know if that works

this was supplied by bigshotrob22 at rootzwiki, so dont thank me for this unless you want to thank me for posting it, otherwise send him a message over at rootzwiki for finding this[/QUOTE]

Even with this fix, MMS won't work (at least for me) if WiFi is connected. As soon as I disable WiFi, MMS works fine.

So how are you liking this???

Its a nice ROM minus the MMS issue. I also had intermittent bluetooth issues which is a deal killer for me. I also seemed to have lag in the keyboard when texting (like the GB leaks).

This ROM is fast. Boots up super quick! All around smoothness. I might be back (or maybe not as I stated up above). Im back on CM7 for now. :)

Really seems like the email bug where SMTP (I think) doesn't work over certain port numbers (25?) on WIFI. Hmmm. Does Blur have this issue?

I have had this issue from Day 1 with Android. Blur, non blur, stock, etc - two separate devices and then a third (my wife's). I could never understand why when I was out of the house my MMS messages would go through with no problem but when I was home they would hang. Turn off wifi and all is well.

I suggest the ppl unhappy should check out MIUI if they havnt already. I know people think its all iphoney, but it takes just a few clicks to make it look like regular android.

You will love all the different customization options that usually require a lot of work, where on MIUI they are pretty much all built into the theme changer. Also the speed and smoothness is very impressive. This ROM was just what I needed to switch things up and keep me interested for a while.

Couldn't believe how fast it got through quadrant, whey faster then apex for me. Qudrant right out of the box with no OC or anything was 2300. Verdict is still out on battery life, will let you know though.

i can honestly say i do enjoy omfgb
its smooth, crisp, no lag, battery life is better than cm7, not by a whole lot, but with my normal use im down to 80% right now. so i actually think this is a very nice rom

miui once you get passed the iphone look can be customized the way you want it, but im just not that big a fan of it.

my personal opinion

Even if this is the case, I never put too much stock into quadrant scores anyway. The "real feel" of the phone is what I use as a test :D

+1

quadrant has never been accurate on my phone, where some were getting 2k i was still getting 1500 and probably still faster than others, i dont have many problems out of my phone, no lag or anything, unless i wipe it out then when its loading i try to do a million things before its done loading. thats about it
