Smartphones turn men into cry babies

It's amazing how wrapped up we are in current technology. This isn't a surprise it's human nature to be amazed by something new then it becomes a part of daily life that changes us and the world we live in. Most don't even see the change or realize the change because we are living in the change as it programs us and we become the change. I have no problem with change and evolution. I remember back in 2006 and 2007 when I was rocking a Motorola Razr and how so much has changed since then. In 2006 I could go back to 2001 and nothing was that much different. When the first smartphone came out we were amazed and thankful if we could afford one. I notice the more and more cool technology we get the more unreasonable cry babies it creates. I can be particular about things to a degree, I use to be that way more with smartphones and came to a realization one day. What is my phone not doing that is making me so upset? it got hot? it has glitches from time to time? It doesn't have some update available yet that's not even going to make any difference in the overall scheme of things? I'm programmed to put priority on this update more than I should due to hype and what others are saying? Is it so bad I could give it up now and go to a flip phone? or was I amazed by it and then over time expecting a little bit to much and not taking in the big picture here? Honestly my phone won't update some kind of glitch or problem with my tbolt where it will not do an update. I only have the very first update HTC put out for it. It doesn't reboot luckily. I said to myself who cares. I don't even care when gingerbread comes out I will stay on my Froyo, it works very well and why fix something that isn't broke? if anything the improvements will be minimal on GB with a good possibility of a few negatives to go with it. I know Verizon will replace my phone with a refurbished one, but I bought my tbolt shortly after launch brand new and don't want someone elses junk. A few weeks ago I went into the Verizon store and they said if it doesn't update in next week or so to get it replaced. Verizon later even tried to push the update and no go. I thought about it and think it's pretty cool actually. Why do I care about the update? What's it going to do? add some extra bloatware? It does everything I want it to do right now.The whole point is the better technology gets the more picky and whiny we become over the stupidest things. For the first 4G LTE phone I don't think the Tbolt is really all that bad. I think the Tbolt is actually pretty good. You figure the faster phones get, the faster the networks become with newer technology things aren't going to be perfect. The iPhone for example is very reliable. It's this way because the phone hasn't really changed all that much. The design has, but overall the phone itself has not changed. It's not as open as an Android it has it's Apple Governor turned on it has no flash support. It's a classy phone with a few good technologys like the screen. I believe the iPhone 5 is taking so long to come out because Apple want it made right and want it to be reliable like the rest of the iPhones. It's harder to do this when you are running the phone more aggressive with more features. All and all HTC did good on this phone, it's not perfect but can you live with a few glitches and minor flaws for the perks? I sure as hell can. Crying about it on a forum isn't going to change anything. Maybe it's you who needs to change and accept and adapt to the good things that we have. Over time we build delusion of grander and expect higher standards on what is already great. Grown Men crying about phones.

I love the damn thing. I only have 2 problems, and one(having Netflix) is already solved. Next, when they get 4g in my area, sweet. Only other problem, yeah, the phone eats power like I do Linden's chocolate chip cookies(God they're good), but hey, drop 40 bucks, get a extended battery or a decent portable power pack for trips, and presto, solved.

Maybe I am just lucky with phones, but I have never found myself being a crybaby over my phone. Addicted, yes, but not a crybaby. I think smartphones are the greatest technological feat of this decade. Every connectivity advance, all rolled up into one handheld device. Bluetooth, GPS, Cellphone, Mobile Data, FM Radio (for some), Email, messaging, movies, games, MP3s, and now a credit card! This one single device really does it all.
